Yep, I also had a heck of a tow from a S2000 down the front and back straight.

But before I can get back into the hunt time-wise, I need to get my confidence back at Road America. I have really gotten away from my roots there, and need to build back up again next season.

Yea, I am just theorizing what is left on the table - so to speak - when making a good solid hot lap.

Without dumping a ton of points on tires, I think you could pickup at least 7-8 seconds with a set of Victoracers, or RA-1's

I think a set of Hoosier R6s are only going to be 2 points more than RA-1's. I've been told Those hoosiers could knock ~8-10 seconds off a ~2:30 course. I was thinking I would try to make those fit.

They wouldn't the way i plotted it out before but they are only +2 over the toyos (if i remember the rules correctly) so i think i could make them fit pretty easily.

Well, if they are only that big of a difference it might be worth it to knock off something else to get that kind of time.

Sweet! Now I'm just waiting to hear back from the NASA people to see if we will be able to do car sharing at Gingerman. Jen wants to drive too

My car has 14000 miles and has the original brake fluid - what do you guys think?

It's not just miles. It's more age. Brake fluid suck up moisture from the atmosphere. The moisture boils and causes air pockets in the fluid. Of course, some brake fluids are rated better than others.

Get some new fluid, super cheap insurance. You don't want to be out there and have the pedal go to the floor on your first event.

ditto.

Do you have the little USB to firewire cable that came with the phone? I imagine its probably as simple as hook it up that way and drag-drop just like a thumb drive.

if all else fails, you could try to email them to your email account. Tried that once with pics on my phone but it didn't work.

A Marine at a baby shower... that would be great!

Of course it makes sense. They come whining like a baby to the Navy whenever they need a ride...

Any of you guys have any contacts with the NASA people? I know the sister of an astronaut, but I don't think that will help in this case...

I emailed two of them last week about the track day, mainly inquiring about car sharing for me and Jen. Haven't heard anything back yet.
