When is the next little MN meet?

I have a couple Ideas...there is a coffee shop in Lilydale that hosts a car show every once in a while, i'll talk to the owner and see what's up. What Cities do you all live in... I'll start with my town of residence, Eagan.
(maybe I can centralize a location or something)

The Lilydale meets can get VERY hectic. BUT i have seen a few NICE :aroused: cars there.

As some of you know I am in Minnetonka. I know that everyone is everywhere.

I agree there needs to be more of a organization of these things. Specific day and time. At least once a month or even a few days, I don't mind Fuddrucker's :yumyum:

I always have Sundays after 5:30pm Available. Saturdays, I need 3 weeks notice, but usually off work by 4:30.

We've met at the MoA parking lot once, across IKEA. There are a few parks out there, with large parking lots!

MadeULock, you took good photo! Thanks for the electric tape! It was nice getting to meet everyone yesterday.

Thompsolonian 03-28-2010 11:15 PM

OK

I am willing to organize something for this summer, say June, for a meet. I will even go as far as to call in to reserve a room at a restaurant or something.

I can plan it on a Saturday (it being in June will be sufficient notice for those who need a heads up to take the day off)

What do you guys think of all that?

Please list what city you live in, so I may calculate (throw a dart at a map of minnesota) a location.

Love the idea of a big june meet and greet. Besides the first weekend, i'm definitely down. And as a new member to RX ownership and this forum, I think it sounds like a great idea. Thanks Thompsolonian for volunteering to organize.

How does Saturday, June 19th sound?

We could meet at the usual spot (Fudrucker's) or at a Perkins or something.
I would like to keep it simple, dinner and a drive, maybe a party at someone's house, or finish it off at the perfect ash with a cigar or something.

I am making a google calendar event. Just look up RX-8 MN.

I appreciate any ideas, pm me if you got any!

MadeULook 03-29-2010 10:03 PM

Checking the Fifa schedule... Fine with me as long as it is after 12pm.

neim0003 03-30-2010 03:54 PM

Saturday the 19th works, i like fuddruckers and drive. Oh, and I live Downtown if that helps.

alright, so we have June 19th, at fudrucker's, with a drive in the afternoon...

what time is best, 3pm? 330 pm?

I can call within the next month or so as a courtesy to let them know what/when/how many to expect.

Any volunteers for photography? All i have is a camera on my phone.
It would be a great oppurtunity for the MN group to get a pic of them in their ride, with the window down, and a pic to post in their profile.

If there is something else that sounds better, or a different thing you want to do, pm me with your ideas, or just post here, i'll do a poll to see if anyone likes any of the ideas the come my way.

I'll host a party at my place in Eagan after the drive if anyone is interested.

I will try to swing through if I can, would be nice to say hello to some other rx8 owners.

Sounds good. Speaking of photography I'd like to get my wife to go so I can snap some rolling shots. If she can't go maybe we can shuffle some people around to get it done. :ylsuper: Also if anyone knows of some fun roads in the area it would be nice to plan a route. The only ones i know are up in stillwater. :Freak_ani

Roads around Lake Minnetonka... only go 30 - 40 mph :dunno: but curvy and nice view of the lake. Hwy 3/Robert St, on the southside of 494. I will ask some of the guys from the G35 forum... I have a friend that may know some places.

And it would be cool if we have someone video the cars when we drive so we can hear the sounds. I ride my bike around Minnetona area around Gray Bay area sometime and I agree road is curvey there and fun to drive. The only bad part is there are too many cops! So no speeding!

On the other hand Interstate 394 section before you get to HWY 12 is a good section to do some actions if someone has a video camera.

boarderjosh10 03-31-2010 03:01 PM

I have a pretty decent HD video camera that I could take videos and pictures with. I work and live in Wayzata so pretty much anywhere in the Metro is game for me. The piece of 394 you are talking about Luckycat is a pretty good place too for videos.

titus1011 04-01-2010 08:18 AM

that sounds cool, Im in Moorhead MN, so I wouldnt mind drive down that way either for the day.

MadeULook 04-01-2010 05:08 PM

Will 12 Noon work with everyone. It's a larger meet, so the earlier the better.

xdj_jdx 04-02-2010 01:43 PM

Also don't forget about cars and coffee coming in may for you new guys. Check this link. Www.automotorplex.com and be there.

GSWITCH33 04-04-2010 12:14 PM

boarderjosh10 04-04-2010 04:13 PM

So did a date get set yet? I kind of need a lot of notice to take off from work.

Speedrx8er 04-05-2010 10:44 PM

Groo 04-06-2010 05:31 PM

I know my car has some sort of aftermarket springs or struts, but not exactly sure what. I'm starting to look at summer tires- do I need to be careful for fitment with 235s at all?

Ah, I completely forgot about cars and coffee. I was in Iowa visiting some friends for Easter. Did anyone end up going?

I don't think so. I have 235s with 30 offset 18" wheels and no rubbing. My car is lowered 1.25"

This ad has some wheels I am selling. (the car wasn't lowered then.)

Thanks. I've got some 235/40R18s on the way. We'll see for sure Monday, but I'm sure they will fit fine.
