Just got my first 8, look for a new Velocity Red around Downtown Minneapolis. Excited to read up on the http://www.mnrx8club.com/index.php forum for some more local info.

To help sift through the 96 pages of replies on this thread, does anyone have a "best" mechanic to use in Minneapolis in case anything goes wrong? Just want to be prepared. Thanks

TurboXS has a test pipe for like $127. B&B $304. and Agency Power for $215. Those are on vividracing.com. I do have a stock cat, but not sure I want to part with it.. What do you need it for?

Also, I fixed the heat problem. Condensation on Tail light sucks.. Ordering LED lights on kbstuff.com, then fixing that.

What do you guys feel about the Access Port on non-boost vehicles? worth it?

Welcome to the bliss of rotary 8's. Not keen on mechanics to do work, I usually figure stuff out on my own... A lot of "aftermarket" shops are okay, I am partial to a shop in Savage, "Savage Street Machines"

I have had good luck with Walser and Morrie's.. even if people don't like them.

So when are we ready for some meets? Is this snow going to ever end?

Street Racing 08.08.2008. On you tube is a bunch of them doing runs at an undisclosed parking lot.

Well guys, my 8 is back in my garage safe and sound where it belongs. Had a small issue on the way home from the dealer when I threw a CEL, but I drove it back and they took care of it on the spot. Overall I thought Walser was decent through the whole experience.

The only real sour grapes I have over the deal is Mazda is not going to pick up the tab on the car rental for the two weeks while I was waiting on my new engine. I still have some follow up phone calls to try and get this done, but the secretive "regional rep" has apparently declined it and of course I have no way to talk to him directly to discuss it.

Question for you guys. I know the difference between 7440 and 7443 bulbs for our turn and brake lights. Dual vs single.

Now does this apply to LED bulbs? I accidently ordered 7443 Amber LEDs instead of 7440. Apparently there is no diffence in size... Does anyone know?

I cannot reverse the order, so I will find out either way. It just if there is an issue I would like to order the right ones right away.

If you decide to sell it with hardware, please let me know.

I would like to do the access port. I don't think you would feel the difference, but it leans out the mixture. Maybe this would help with my fuel dilution of the oil. Plus it turns on the fans earlier to keep ahead of the engine getting too hot. I would get the Mazda Maniac tune so it is dialed in for my car.

Would you recommend Savage Street Machines for a re-build on a 13B-MSP?

Or is there another local shop you would recommend for such a task?

Yeah. Give them a call. I know one of the guys are eager to do a custom supercharger for a rotary. He mentioned something about machining the engine more... He used to bore parts for an airline company.

They are pretty diverse with cars. Motorcycles. Domestic. Import. You name it.

Keep the winters handy. I usually don't switch until mid-to-end April, depending on how the weather is looking.

im thinking at least a cold air, not sure at the moment, i have done a little to replace the lights on the interior with blue LEDs, looks sick.

last minute meet this saturday? anyone interested, can't think of a location. perhaps at this location... 44.827789, -93.194010 ----- put that in google maps, it is just off of blue cross road in eagan, I will plan on being there around 2:30 pm...we could probably figure out a little drive for the afternoon

the corrdinates lead to the south end of the parking lot for blue cross blue shield, it will be empty.
