Quick question about MN auto laws.

1. Does the state mandate vehicle inspections? (Can I get away with a catless midpipe)

Not currently.

So you can get away with it but it will throw a CEL.

There is a work around for that. I had to do it to my SVT Cobra. It had Racing H-pipe w/Borla muffs and pipes. Just don't remember what we did. I'll have to inquiry down in the Tech Garage.

I was reading a thread about using a racing midpipe w/a cat back system, and installing a borla XR-1 race muffler on the midpipe to quiet it some what, but keep the benefits of the less restrictive flow.

They have tried the O2 saver and found it also needs to be wrapped to keep the heat on the sensor. Otherwise it gives a CEL for a slow sensor.

It is workable, just not as easy as a midpipe should be.

Has anyone here used the Speed Bleeders for the brakelines, mastercylinder, and clutch?

Ted has a Highflow cat which brings him gains...and no CEL...

there is a bushing trick for no CEL on Catless midpipes but it doesn't work on all setups

I want to get a catless midpipe as well BKR

thank goodness for no inspections...that is why there are two unrestricted 3rotor RX7s in our state that are riding around on the street when you come in town we will take you too a North Star Rotary meet where you can see the beasts

Yeah I was reading the thread about the O2 Sensor bushing. I can't do it out here since I have to get inspected in March, but I might just do it once I get the inspection sticker on the car. It will be interesting to see how it will perform and sound with a race pipe and a Hymee on it?

Papajoey was looking to sell his. He mentioned that it ran rough but I think it just needed the screen to be added before the MAF.

It is a lot bigger than I thought it was. Didn't get to see it in action since it was off of the car.
