Question

Does the helmet have to be both DOT and SNELL approved stickers? I also see that SNELL has M2000 and SA2000 standards. M2000 is for motorcycles, does the track allow these? Sorry for all the questiones, the last thing I want to do is get the wrong helmet.

Get the SA2000 helmet. Snell separated the standards for autos and motorcycles back in the 80's. The reason is that the types of impacts taken by the 2 types are different. A cycle, the impact is head to ground. In a car, you hit the roll cage and other car parts. The effect on protecting the head is different. Unfotunatly for us, the cycle helmets are cheaper due to volume of sales.

the helmet has to have both stickers on it, which it should if you get a SA helmet.

Don't know why, but couldn't resist. I think it was because you stated the test was horrible like everyone would know what you were talking about. Personally, I think that would be a pretty horrible test.

I got the helmet today at a motorcycle store. I paid $54 Its nothing special, KBC open face. It has a sticker that says SNELL/DOT. I also looked on the SNELL websight and that helmet model is SNELL approved, but M2000. I e-mailed road america and they said as long as it is SNELL/DOT approved it does not matter if its for motorcycle or auto. I'm in business.

Question

This is a question off topic. I notice people on other threads state they change their oil every 3K while the manual says every 5K. Which do you guys do?
