Stay as close to stock as possible, so you can cut through the snow/slush better.
Thats what my wife says as she grew up here. The dealer said the same thing, to get narrower tires like 215's.

These look like that got good ratings. $1,100 for tires, wheels, delivery. Not bad.

We're you there for the 3000GT that got smashed up? The other RX8 guy that was parked down from us a little bit hit a barrier too and one of the lazers blew a tranny.

I found the gravel pits on corner 12 twice on Sunday.

Yea, I saw the 3000 on Sat. Turn 12 was tricky, tires let you down again? Gravel's better than a wall.

yea i couldnt remember which day was the end of the VR4.

It was partially tires but it was moreso my fault for not realizing and adjusting to the fact that the tires were performing how they were. I should have backed it off comming down the back straight but i didnt. The 2nd time i did it saturday I finally went into the kink a little more correctly and gained about 10mph out of it so i was going quite a bit faster. Should have just backed it off and been happy with the improvement on the tricky corner and worked on my line through 12 instead of speed into it but got greedy. All things considered i think i bashed on those tires a little too much. Different conditions(warmer) and they probably would have been fairly decent tires and i should have just drove a little more accordingly for the conditions and the tires i had.

and yes, again much better than a wall.

yea that was pretty much my opinion the first time i got out. It is a load of fun. Start practicing your rev matching between shifts and then heel-toe shifting. That alone goes a long way.

Yea, that will be great. Also have you or anyone else ever taken a track driving course? I think I may want to check one out.

Al has a few but the batteries in my camera were dead. I wanted to take some though.

devildog i have never taken any classes but i am planning on geting some instruction this comming season as well. I know there are a few all day events at gingerman, the track me and reddevil frequent, in michigan. And RedDevil went to one of their events last year. Al has in his signature that he has been to Skip Barber driving school. I don't know about the Blue or any other schools or instruction Al has.

I have wanted to go to one of those schools, but they are damn expensive. I understand that there is a different level of help there, but for 3k for a 3 day school, thats 10 track weekends....

I believe the one RedDevil went to and the one I plan on going to next summer was a couple hundred for a full day at Gingerman.

But i know the schools you are talking about and that would be pretty amazing to go to also, but i have to agree. I havent spent 3k on anything before or since the actual purchase of my car other than tuition.

Along with Skip Barber School, I had to attend SCCA run schools to get my racing licence.
