Canada is 12, as I recall? If you're in second there, you're going what about 45mph?

Basicly, if you have to break for a corner, you will be in 2nd gear. The rest of the corners on the track are 3rd gear. You will probably shift to 4th just before turn 11 (never shift in a corner).
Thanx for the advise, it will come in handy. In looking at the track map 11 has two possible ways to take it. Is this true? I think at 11 I may be a 27 year old boy

yes, some clubs are little girls about the kink. the Fbody club runs with the kink in full effect, so that will be interesting.

The Kink is fun, but can be dangerous if taken wrong. Instructors will be VERY helpful there.

Does that mean that you can choose which route to take or they ony have one open? Sounds like this track is allot of fun.

they only have 1 open. If you take the other, they call you back into pit road and have a serious talk with you

Exclamation

What do you guys recomend, getting the break pads from the Mazda dealer or getting them from Autozone or Checkers? Also the car manual said DOT 3 fluid for the breaks but I recall bluerenisi stating to buy DOT 4? Which one should I get?

DOT 4 has better temp ranges, and I would reccomend getting some better brake pads than the stockers, but if you do stick with the stockers, get an extra set.

Hawk HP+ are good, or Carbotech XP8s

OK, I will look into getting some extra pads this weekend just in case I burn thru the ones I have on now. As for the Dot fluid I think I'll just stick with what I have now, I'll just top it off. I have no clue on how to bleed the breaks and switch fluids anyway.

I would venture to guess its as old as the car. I would really reccomend getting either motul 600 or ATE superblue or equivilant. We can help you bleed out your system and get the new stuff in there saturday morning. it really is a very simple job. Then it will be just another thing you get to experience. Higher temp brake flid is really a good idea when braking consistantly from 100+mph. Also at the very least get pads from mazda, dont get the cheap stuff from autozone etc. and like Blue said hawk hp+ or carbotech xp8s are also good upgrades and really worth the investment.

If need be, we can do a fluid swap at the track fairly quickly.

You right, the fluid is as old as the car and the brakes to (12.5K). Well since you guys are offering to help I will get the DOT 4 fluid and bring it to the track. It will be good to learn. Can I get the fluid at Autozone or checkers? Where do I locate these brakes? The most I ever did in terms of car maintenance was changing the oil and brakes on my 1994 Z28. I miss that car

Just found out that the Hawk pads will run me $164 for both front and rear, mazda will cost $124. I think I better save the $40 bucks.

Yea, I have my doubts that as long as you don't go crazy you won't outdrive those brakes. the 8 seems to have very good factory brakes. You can take that 40$ and apply some of it twards the fluid. I doubt you will be able to find it in a store like autozone. If there is a speed shop in your area they may have it. I will try to find you a link to where they sell it. RedDevil, does DPE sell it?

Edit DPE does sell it. They have both motul and super blue.

Just for reference me and reddevil did both our cars with 1 can of SuperBlue with some left over.

Now you're just trying to show off.

I still have another can of ATE, I think Mac and I are going to flush our system again this or next weekend.
