Hey Guys. I'm the proud new owner of a blue 2010 R3. Picked it up from Chicago area on the 6th and I haven't been able to stop smiling. I thought I'd introduce myself. This is my second Mazda, the first being a NB Miata that is currently fighting for project car money with my old Jeep CJ.

Other then maybe some lighting I plan on leaving her pretty stock. This is my first car with actual Bumper to Bumper, anyone have thoughts on dealers in the Macomb/Oakland County area?

This seems to be a great community and I hope to contribute to it.

I happy I found it, the only other Blue R3 for sale recently around here was that one in Ann Arbor that had front end damage. It is in great shape. there is a small blemish in the paint above the drivers door, but I took that as a wash when I noticed the never mentioned the Racing Beat exhaust.

 

Lol, looks like I'll fit in nicely with my bone stock red 04 8. Just got her last monday with 32k miles. Ready to start gathering ideas for what route to take her in the mod dept.

 

Was that one on Craigslist? Please tell me it was so I can stop having regrets about not pursuing the 2010 Blue R3 and get back to enjoying my recently acquired 2009 Silver GT ;-)

I saw it in a dealer post on auto trader. The carfax on it listed front end damage. The sales guy knew about it, but had no doc on who fixed it and total extent of the damage. Even at 20k I walked away right there.

 

There were two blue R3's in VA next door to each other. One had damage history, one did not. I got the one with the clean CarFax I never saw the one in A2 for sale.

BTW: Gorgeous 86 RX-7, 65k miles for sale on the Lansing craigslist. Only slightly modded. One owner since '87, looks perfect!

 

Just an FYI, the 1st Detroit Cars, Coffee, & Karts is this Saturday March 31st at Kart2Kart in Sterling Heights. It runs from 8:30am-12pm roughly. All kinds of cool cars show up and you can also have some fun on Kart2Kart's awesome go-kart track.

I should make it there, it's only a 10 minute drive. sadly, I have plans, so I will only be there for a few hours.

 

I'd love to go, but I'll be tinkering with the rx8 for the first time that morning.. (damned tail light condensation!!!) If I can wrap everything up by 10:30, I'll head out there (bit of a drive for me)

I've had my 8 for three years, but I can't remember if I ever posted in the Michigan forum. Anywho, I'm usually driving around the Wayne/Westland/Canton/Ann Arbor area on any given day of the week. I've got a titanium gray '04 with tinted windows and a single exit HKS exhaust. I'm usually on stock rims unless it's an autocross weekend and I've swapped rims. If you see me, give me a wave or something and I'll know you're from the board.

I saw a sunlight silver near Canton Center and Michigan Ave yesterday. Looked like it got punched in the nose. Is that anybody here?

I'm glad to see a fair number of 8 owners in this general area. Will definitely have to attend any get-togethers.

Well there were 3 RX8's at Car and Coffee this morning. My RX8, a Blue R3 with a Chips Motorsports window banner, and then one more Blue R3 showed up.

It was chilly out but plenty of cool cars showed up!

 

Yea it was cold out, It seams like all the same cars show up tho, nothing new...Maybe when it warm up the good stuff comes out the garage >

 

I got mine out long enough to discover it has a vacuum leak somewhere ... next time.
