I have been talking to him via PM the last couple of days. I am a little hesitent to have my car tuned by someone who hasn't tuned rotary's before. But if everything goes well with his car then I might be willing to let them tune my car also. At this point I just want to get the thing running again.

CUBS GAME

Ok guys its time to take the club to Wrigley Field. Chicaog Cubs VS Colorado Rockies.
I will get all the tickets so we can all be in the same section. we are looking at anywere
between 16-30 dollars for tickets but if i can get 20 or more people to go in we can get a catered
room, I still need to call for pricing on that. Any one can come to this event

Memorial Day Parade update: The 8 spots are filled and the people have all the required stuff in to me. However, as I'm sure something will come up for someone, I'm now advertising for alternates. We can only have 8 cars, so if you sign up as an alternate and there isn't a spot for your car, you can ride in someone else's car. Should be a really good time.

If you do want to be an alternate, please PM me right away. I will still need to get your insurance card submitted to the city by next week, so don't delay!

The tentative plan is to meet at the McDonald's at Fox Valley for breakfast in the morning, probably at 9. We will caravan down to the parade start point after breakfast, participate in the parade, and then head out to my place for a very informal cookout. If we have any alternates' cars that aren't able to participate, we will cruise back by the mall to pick them up before heading back to my place for the cookout.

i wont be able to attend this one. im getting my RX8 back on friday but i will have to put 2000 miles on it to break it in. the maybe the next one i can make it

Think of it this way, coming to the meet you will get 10% of that completed. And it isn't necessary to drive to redline.

 

well the tech at the dealership where my car is, told me that i can only do city driving for about 2000 miles. is that ture?

 

I would invite you to get input from others, but in my opinion, city driving is hard on the engine. Look in the owners manual. Mazda wants you to change the oil more often for that. For piston engines, this makes since. You want the piston rings to seat into the cylinder walls. Driving a continuous speed means the piston only moves so far up and down and wears only that distance. A rotary engine doesn't have that issue. As a matter of fact, some say that no brake-in is necessary. Racing Beat has a suggested break-in procedure on their website. You could also PM RotaryGod and see what he has to say on the subject.
