yea theyre nice peeps and all, but since the buyout they:

dont give loaners and have a huge issue if you need a rental
have no clue whats going on in rx-8 land (and dont have time to either)
are WAAAAAY understaffed
broke parts on my car
and ... (the main reason i am looking for another close by dealership)

they refuse to give me any paperwork other than my receipt, claiming the info contained in my PCM printouts is proprietary and only for MNAO and dealer usage. even tho i have the printouts from before.

they just are so understaffed they dont have time to deal with our finicky cars and dont understand why these damn things keep coming in. i believe they HAVE seen the mulligan video tho and thats why they dont really care to keep up with current info. just my .02

Yeah, one of the guys told me their sales are way up, but it looks like they haven't increased the service staff to compensate.

I never got a Mazda as a loaner, usually get a crap econobox ford (this last time was a bit better with a PT Cruiser (33 miles on it), but I have always had good experiences there (Wilkins). I have also been to the Naperville twice (much, much closer to me), but every-time I go there, I get the impression that they don't want to tell you crap, and they just don't know the service schedules -- at least the guy I dealt with the second time I went. And both times I went, I felt like they thought they were doing me a favor by working on the car.

Never tried Pugi -- anyone have any experiences with them?

I guess I'll avoid naperville as well. I was wondering if anyone's tried the autobarn in evanston? I'm going to need ervice in a week so any other recommendations would greatly be appreciated. Lol, one of the things I wanted taken care of is HUGE condensation in my taillight.... But after sitting in my garage attached to my house (warm), it all dried up. So, I gotta get them foggy again before I go or I'll need to waste another trip to the dealer. Well, 2 more trips since they won;t order me the taillight til they see it have condensation themselves...and then for them to finally install it.

The Autobarn has a bad reputation.

^ ditto.

and i hear ya on the foggy tail light. i had one and even took pics of it. they wont accept any pics (which i guess is understandable) and i had to wait til it got foggy again. someone suggested going through a hot car wash to fog it. i didnt, but if you are needing to get it foggy before you go in you might want to give it a shot

Just wanted to put in a quick plug for A-Spec in Schaumburg. Haven't done any work with them (yet, anyway), but they have been great about responding to a bunch of my email questions.

Yeah, I got the feeling Naperville doesnt caer after I called them with a question. The guy said they dont do that and hung up on me. Not where I'd want to go. Pugi on the other hand was very helpful, took their time and answered my question fully.

Nice motto

I think the fact I was driving her Avalanche didn't help either.

One thing is for sure, from my experience Chicago drivers are far more courteous than Orlando drivers.

ok folks, seems the *BANNED* member lounge's petting zoo got rained out and it's all muddy. they've asked if we can put the petting zoo out back here ... just temporarily is what they've said.

any thoughts?

^^ LOL, never mind. it was a fun thread that went waaay bad and almost got me banned (for real this time).

anyway, anyone still looking for snow tires? i saw this thread https://www.rx8club.com/mountain-forum-46/looking-sell-my-remaining-rx-8-parts-asap-106988/ and even tho its now local pickup only, the price is HOLY WOW cheap!!! so paying for shipping would prolly still be cheaper than picking up a local set around here.

You're safe. Besides, I know several of us would have protested loudly any attempts to ban you Red.
