Yeah, I was thinking maybe I should propose a meet to show it off/give people a chance to listen to it...

Lower Wacker cruise?
I went there last weekend with JGTCA. I couldn't help but to rev the engine as we went under bridges. Ya know those cars that you can only hear the thump, thump, thump from their radios. They didn't have a chance against me.

I am all for a Lower Wacker Cruise. One of my favorite places to drive, no matter what vehicle I am driving.

Got the dual mazdaspeed installed today. Really enjoying it so far! Nice sound, nice rumble down low that gets louder as you go up. Gets aggresive around 5K . I can see why some people might think it is too loud on the MT. Its as about as loud as I'd want it on my AT, and with the MT you've got 1500 more rpm to go...

Funny moment. First time I got it up around 6K i started looking around for a split second for some other cool car, then realized "oh hey, that's me" It really seems to change to me around 5k or a little above. Gets much more race-carish sounding.

So you like the MS, was it as I described? I'm curious on your take. Also how dose it sound compared to the RB, now that you've heard both live? Have you noticed it gets much louder after it warms up for a bout 10 minutes. Congratulations.

Yup, pretty much as you described. The Racing Beat is definitely more subtle, I think. I can see where the MS would get annoying if you drove a lot of highway miles with the windows up. It seemed to me it can drone a bit at that speed, but I've only got a couple hours of highway driving with it on.

I've noticed that if I rev the motor really fast and shift around 5 or 6K it sounds really, really cool

This might be a personal question, but what do you guys and gals clean your tips with? I've noticed I've already got the bronzing effect...

I think it is called Never Dull, I picked it up at Auto Zone and it is made for Stainless steel. Don't use anything not made for stainless steel. It comes in a can and when you open it it is filled with a cotton impregnated type of gauze. You rub it on and buff it off but it takes a little elbow grease. If you go under the tech section their is a thread about gold tips and someone has found a better cleaner but I have not tried it yet.

I found that the tips yellowed very fast the first month or two then after that they seemed to yellow much slower. I don't know if this was seasonal or a characteristic of the metal.

I use never dull as well. They also make a version for all metals so you can use it on just about everything. I first used it to polish all the brash buttons on my dress uniforms in the military.

I noticed the cork sport seemed to yellow quickly and not shine very easily for the short time I had it on the car.

Hmm, I really would like to get mine back to silver. Figure it would work better with the silver body color. But I bet the gold would look good with a red body.

I would disagree. I bought my MS in Feb so I didn't clean the tips for 2 to 3 months. They were pretty gold. It took several applications but I got them back to silver and once a month now keeps them that way.

It might be that the single wall construction of the RB yellows quicker and worst then the double wall of the MS but I bet you can get them silver again.

Grrrr.... I hit a piece of tire on the freakin Highway I-90 it was unavoidable. Why? Because construction and no room to swurve or anything it just came out of no where at went under through the center and heard some noises. I went to the dealer and lifted up the car no damage done
Also when I was cruising on 53 north some peeps in an suv were showing me thumbs up and nodding there heads so I showed them my thumb too

oh believe me, i've tried. i once spent a half hour rubbing one side thinking "i'll just get it silver and never let it get this bad again."

then i found out the RB is notorious for that. there is some thread on here about a different compound that really DOES get rid of the gold. i just have a hard time buying sumpin new while i've got the whole can of nevr dull...someday tho!
