this lady at my work said her sister is getting one- and I thought to myself, and then I asked- does she know it can flood pretty easily and she said she would ask her- then she came back later that afternoon and said her sister wanted to know what I was talking about! now I have nothing against women- but I do know my wife could never drive this car on a regular basis cause she would either flood it or run it out of oil! anyhow I told the girl to tell her sister to do some research cause the salesman is the idiot who knows the least about the car- all the typical mazda salesman knows is that it costs alot! just my 2 cents

I have seen 3 driven by ladies recently -- all have been AT's. This is my fear -- the 8 will get a really bad rep with tons of women driving AT's The AT should never have been sold in the castrated state of tune it's in.

1:00 PepperJax's -- I'm in.

The Acosta Racing 8 is for sale on EBay for ~ $60k -- now that is tempting .... 900 hp :D

Kain -- guess you weren't smoking wild mushrooms after all

I saw the crazy painted RX-8! It is a Bacardi rum promo car -- it was parked at Baker's at 176th and Center today. Wild paint job -- wish I had my camera with me.

Kain, the more I look at the decal ideas, the more I like the black rotor symbol with the HRC logo inside.

El Presidente' my two pasos, any thursday and I will be there!!! (late wed should work, any other day is ????) I need another lunch break.

Question to the group, I have read a lot about the stalling issue, but has anybody had any problems with battery drain. I meant to ask at our last meeting. Happened twice. First time was probably my fault. Day I got the 8, spent some time loading CD's, and playing with the NAV. Battery replaced by dealer next day. Second time was after my trip east. 8 was at home for 5 days alone and DOA. Jumped and drove for 20 miles, no problem since...

well I will work more on that one and make a couple of versions- Pertaining to your previous question- I had mine last winter but did not really ever drive it and I would wait for a week at a time to start her- and it would start right up -even that week of the bitter cold. So I guess basically, I don't know, but it does seem odd>?

Never a problem with my battery.

How about either July 8th (Thurs.) or July 14th (Wed.)?

I haven't found one in Omaha -- KC or Denver most probably -- Omicron found one out in Denver that he was recommending at the Rocky Mountain meet. The only rotary engine guy I am familiar with is Jeff at Olsen service -- he has been there for a very long time -- used to service my first gen RX-7.

RX-8 Club Lunch Thurs. July 8th -- let's do McKenna's again @11:30 a.m.

We would have to approach Rocky Mountain about letting us join. I see pros and cons -- just not sure if Omaha or NEB will ever really be big enough to support a real club of our own and we are kind of in between areas with other clubs that are developing. I would rather join Rocky Mountain than MN-WI-IA for example.

Some guy in an new Altima tried to race me the other day and then was totally miffed when he got aced -- wanted to know what I did to my car because he heard the 8 was "SLOOWW" I told him "It's only slow if you are driving a Viper -- which you obviously aren't" -- do these guys think that just because they share an engine platform with the Z that they are a sports car?

(the 1st one being rxhusker not believing me about the bacardi 8) for now on you guys will have to take EVERYTHING I say at face value! - so would you be purchasing any panties if we had them printed up>?

All I can think of is the scene in Shallow Hal where Jack Black holds up Gwynneth's panties (the ones the size of an RX-8 car cover) and says WTF! LMAO

Spent the moring in the emergency room getting my face stitched up -- last time I take my 8 yr. old to golf school and give a little fatherly advice on how to pitch and run -- my sunglasses saved me from being "One-Eyed Jeff". OOUUUCCHHHH
