An 07 Speed3. Gonna go take another look at it Saturday and talk financing, etc. It's looking to be an awesome deal, but everything has to work out to buy it since we really weren't planning on it till late next month.

I'll try to get there earlier than normal, shouldn't be a big deal as the wife will be preparing for our combined birthday party that night (more about her than me, I can't tell you how old or she will kill me). Looks like there might be some Miata folk as well, so we might have a good Mazda representation.

Yeah, we didn't stay too long as we are having a combined birthday gathering today (it's mainly for the wife) so we had to get home and clean things up.

That sucks Kevin. Oh well, it just means you'll find a better one (witness my Miata search).

Tact, I had a brain fart today but if you let me know next time you'll be at Fuel I'll make sure we drive the 8 so you can see the coil installation.

Yes sir it was. The car is clean but has a few scratches on the rear bumper. The salesman was pretty unprofessional, so we walked away. `

 

Uugh, I hate sh!tty sales people. I've had to walk away from a good deal before too because of the attitude of the sales person. I feel for ya.

 

Fuz..be glad..I took this car for a test drive and the tranny messed up. It was stuck in first gear while the actual stick shif just flopped around...let's just say the beating that motor took from me driving it back to the lot in first gear..I wouldn't but it now...which salesman did u have?

 

Salesman was some older guy named greg. We had driven it around the lot before closing wednesday, but not enough to get a feel for it. It's probably better that we never drove it. I tend to be hard on cars during a test drive. Even more so if I know i won't be buying it and there is something wrong.

If you're in the market for one as well Xander, the SS up at Kings Subaru seems a little off as well. It didn't seem to really hold boost and just felt kind of beat on.

 

are you sold on a speed 3 or are you looking at other cars?

 

My wife is set on the speed3 and it's her car.

We're really in no rush, we were interested in the one we looked at mostly for it's price.

 

That's cool well I hope you find one. I've always had good luck with kings Mazda. Also that car won't hold boost in first gear FYI it's not supposed to.

 

I know 1st won't hold boost. 2nd seemed to fall on it's face as well. There wasn't enough room to try out 3rd for long though. That particular one is way over priced too.

I got my 8 at kings mazda. My salesman said he'll look and let us know if he can get us a Speed3

Thanks for the well wishes. There are a few out Indy way that we may go look at in the next few weeks.

The benefits to her getting what she wants, is that she's happy, and my 8 will be stored for the winter. I'll just take back my old car from her and use it for the winter.

 

Are there every any meetings in Louisville?

 

I liked the speed 3 it was definatly faster than my 8 but just lacked somthing. After the fun from going fast was over I was just sitting in a mazda 3.only fun in first coupke gears. I was thinking how much I would miss my 8 the whole time I test drove the 3..then the tranny went out and I took it as a sign...so I beat the **** out of that car..had to..drove 40 miles in first gear all the way back to dealer. I would accelerate real fast then coast..and repeat

 

fuz one more thing..what did they tell u was their bottom dollar on that 3?

The MS3 is for the wife, I'm just there to check it out and negotiate for her. I'm trying not to get too into it. I need the mod money for the 8, I don't like to share.

Hello all. I've been an 8 owner for about a year now just found this thread and can't wait to meet some of ya and see what's happenin with your cars and all that fun jazz. What is fuel? Any good events or anything happenin soon?

Fuel is a coffee house on 52/Riverside Drive just east of Downtown. They do Cars and Coffee on Saturday mornings from 8:00 to 12:00. Most people get there around 10 AM or so.

I'm usually always down there and will be on Saturday. I'll wear my red and white OSU hat so I'll be easier to find. It gets pretty crowded when the weather is nice.
