I have jacks, but please bring your own jacks. I have only 4, and likely using them all. Come over anytime after 9:00 or 10:00. I'll send my address later today or tomorrow via pm to those who said is coming. If you are planning on coming, let me know, so that i can have enough food and drinks!
I don't check this thread as often as I should so I didn't see this until now. Any chance you guys need an extra set of hands on Sunday? I can come help. I can bring my own tools, too. I still have a shifter and fuel pump I need to change out on my 8, but the leasing office at my apartment was not exactly happy with me changing the radiator in my jeep in the parking lot a few weeks ago so I haven't had an opportunity to change things yet due to not having a location.

I'll have burgers and hotdogs, pop/beer, etc. if there's anything else you'd like to have, feel free to bring, but if not, don't worry about it. it's not like I'll have super expensive dinner prepared.

I will not be in attendance. I will be doing house and yard work in preparation for the upcoming baby shower the weekend after.
I'll give it a try with my impact driver, and if it doesn't work, i'll just drill them out. I've read that too it's not necessary to put it back anyways.

you are more than welcome to come join.
I should have enough space for at least 4, maybe 5 cars to be worked on my driveway.
if your 8 is drivable, feel free to do any work you need to do at my place. I'll send you my address via PM.

I had the same opinion as well, but they do have their uses and get better mileage than just about any SUV. Though I was fortunate to not have to drive it daily.

I had a first gen Mazda MPV (rear wheel drive with the V6) and it was a blast. Could get the back end to step out around corners if I wanted.

Just found out I'm probably headed back to work in about 10 days, and since this weekend is supposed to be nice I'll definitely be at Fuel. Who else (besides Kevin) is gonna show?

Alright, ordered the pads from BHR like Futz suggested. Hard to beat $145 w/shipping for all four.

I think I'm going to grab new rotors. Mine aren't grooved at all, really... but I'm tired of the rust and the brake dust it creates on my rims every time it gets moist outside. How difficult is a rotor job on an 8?

I could have had the rotors and pads changed in a few hours if it hadn't been for the stupid screws in the front rotors. (impact screwdriver needed) I also took my time since I had to paint the calipers as well.

Watched this video before I decided to do the job myself.

I'll be doing the rotor and pads next weekends party as well. I've done brakes on my other rides several times, so hopefully I can get it done in a couple hours. Only problems I can foresee is like a2wallen said, things just don't come off, etc. I got impact driver so it should help as well.

weather is not looking that great (chance for showers...) but if that the case, I'll probably start working on mine on sat night, so that I can get the garage open for Sunday.
All I need to do is to move my mower and other things out to my workshop, then there should be enough space for two cars worked on at the same time.

does anyone know Anti-Rain dance???

Wow... ordered my pads from BHR Saturday afternoon. I was just writing an email a second ago asking about the order status since I hadn't gotten any shipping info since I ordered, and got a call from my dad saying they'd already arrived in Cincy. Ridiculously impressed.

Rotors should arrive on Friday, so I should be all set come Sunday, rain or shine.

Just remember the weather pukes have been getting it wrong more often than right. I may now be able to make it, ship's schedule has changed so I might not be leaving for another 10-14 days. I'll let you know ahead of time Tact.

tacti,

Looks like I won't be able to make it on Sunday. There's a good chance I'll be going with my wife to visit her family tomorrow. Her mother had some surgery this week and think it's best if I join my wife on the trip. If the trip gets cancelled, I'll be sure to let you know. Sorry

Bad Luck Lucy

So yesterday I came out of the vets office with my dog to discover this on Lucy. Either a careless driver of vehicle, cart or a key. This makes me very, very grumpy. It goes to the body shop on Friday - the scratch goes through the paint to expose bare metal

I have startspec z1 on mine, and absolutely love it! and really looking forward to the ZII which just came out. for whole set, I think ZII will be somewhere around $1000 or 1100 and for that price, it is a great all around tire. grippy, and good in rain too.

I've heard a lot of good things about BFG Rival (also just came out), but really limited in sizes. (if you are looking for 18s, the only size available is 245/40/18, and just below $1,000.

I'm thinking of getting new tires soon, and probably go with ZII.
