I hit a pothole last sunday on I70 on my way back from Indianapolis,

Filing a claim to Indiana DOT, and am gonna ask for two rims and tires, but since they are discontinued, I need to find a full set...

also it was a good thing I have not done the alignment, after lowered yet...

Pothole or crater? Damn

What's up guys? I'm gonna be moving to the area within the next two weeks so if you see a VR GT running around you don't recognize it could be me

there were pretty big potholes around richmond.
I guess there were multiple complaint or report, since when I contacted them, they said they already had someone fixing it...

I swerve the first couple, but couldn't for the third one as there were other car on the next lane.

Finally home, it was quite a trip. I'll bore any of you at Fuel next week with my travails. Nice getting home, all the little bits and pieces I had waiting made it like Christmas/birthday combined.

BMW looks good Kevin.

Hope to see some of you next week.

Thanks Corey, there are plenty of flaws for now until probably spring when i can get warm enough days to work on it and the glue to set.

James: 139k for almost $9k? that will sit for a while.

Ah. Still not worth $9k

$7k tops if it has good compression. It's already outside of the 8yrs, so no new engine if it doesn't. I'd want maintenance records too.

Can't see those without signing on to the site. I have the ones I (think I) posted, but they aren't in the best of shape, at least the driver's side isn't. I sent a message to the seller asking what he would do, nothing back yet. I might have those seats for sale soon.

Had the Miata out in the rain today, that part sucked but I had a lot of fun. Mazdas rule! Got the 8 pushed into the garage, the deflooding will ensue tomorrow.

Salvage title? Don't let that deter you?

Uh yeah, it has.

$200 for front seats, rear seat and door/rear side panels.

driver's seat isn't great, but the rest all looks clean, not that it matters.

So I have a new back bumper. But when I picked my car up from the shop, my passenger side window doesn't work. How could anything involved with replacing a rear bumper screw up my passenger side window?

And they took my aux cable. But they did get the job done in 2 days... so I'll take that as breaking even, I guess?

^ that's why I do my own work as much as possible, and remove everything from the car if it does have to go to a dealer.

Her 8 lives again. I wasn't really trying too hard which is why it took me a week. Decided to hit it hard today and was rewarded. Took it out for a nice blowing out of the cobwebs.

Welcome back Mike. Just in time for more snow this week.

The new Continentals are pretty decent. Not quite as crisp as the summer Bridgestones, but not too bad for 7 months of dicey weather around here. So most likely I can get another year or more on the OE Bridgestone RE050's so budget new wider tires in 2014.

^what, you didn't have fun sliding around?! I was swapping cars around to drive the Speed to the store and I was able to get the 8 sliding in our cul-de-sac.

Had a great Christmas. Robyn got us (her emphasis) a DSLR, and got me a gift card for Full Throttle and an autcross experience driving one of five exotics. That won't be done until August so I have some time to decide, but I believe I'll go for the Ferrari F430. Cars are all auto with paddle shifters disabled and I'm sure all the electronic nannies at their max, but still should be fun.

Oh, I had fun. Just saw it ending badly.

I'm about to buy a Pioneer x940bt and all the necessary wiring harnesses to install in the 8. So once that all arrives it will be parked in my dad's garage for a while.

Wife and I are going to Daytona for the 24 hrs at the end of January

I looked out, saw the sleet, then the snow. Went back to bed.

I have to get the Miata into storage. I've been lazy finding a home for it this winter. Right now it's in the driveway collecting snow. Maybe I'll drive it around with the summer treads in the cul-de-sac tomorrow.

I'm in no hurry to try out the new Conti's in the snow just yet. I cleaned up the 8 on Sunday, so I'd like to keep the salt on the chassis at bay another year.
