as far as people hitting us... I think they are just so jealous of our car that they can't stand it so they hit us :-(. I don't think its a curse, and if it is a curse to have such a beautiful car than I accept lol

Remember that black, white, and silver make up half of all cars sold in the world, so you'd THINK that those colors would have the most accidents, right?

Wrong.

Silver cars actually have the lowest accident rate. Studies have shown this, and when I can find the data again, I'll post it.

Haha I believe you Jethro.

I am working nights again yes. In fact I'm writing to you now from inside my car in the Mitsubishi area of the Ken Garff dealerships on 515s and State. Been walking around and checking out the new Evo's, Genesis's, Eclipse's, and a few Jags. They're all pretty neato but when I get back to my car, Im still perfectly content.

We haven't seen you at an event in ages, Darius. Come to the next meet! Bring the friend you had on the motorcycle.

UT New to RX8 and this forum. Stock parts. Tech recommendations.

My wife had wanted an Rx since before we were married 24 years ago. Finally, a couple of weeks ago, she decided it was time and we found her a grey 2004 AT on ksl.com. She is delighted. So, please welcome Marcelle to the ranks of the Utah RX8club.

Her new baby seems to be well-cared for. But a previous owner made some poor upgrade choices and we need to undo those and take it back to stock.

So, anyone in Utah have a stock airbox and/or exhaust they'd like to get rid of?

Also, who would you recommend for service (not necessarily performance tuning, but good, inexpensive RX service) in the Provo/Orem or Salt Lake area?

Eliot & Marcelle Jacobsen

Welcome to 8Club, Eliot & Marcelle! Also welcome to the local fold, we have already exchanged PM's on the SLCRX8 board. Hope to meet you at a club function soon!

Service. Unfortunately, Legacy Mazda died last year- and they were the dealer I bought mine from. The closest dealer to you is now D. Dahle, in Murray. I have had good experiences with them, as well as Bountiful Mazda (the dealer who installed my Mazdaspeeed exhaust). Others may know good shops not affiliated with Mazda, but I always advise sticking with Mazda until you are clearly, totally out-of-warranty, just to be safe and avoid arguments with Service Managers.

What kind of intake and exhaust did they put on the 8? I will need to look around my old stock parts and see what I have. Welcome to the club.

Looks like someone with a welder and little experience cobbled together whatever they had around the shop.

But the good news is that Jethro Tull had a pristine stock exhaust lying around from his MazdaSpeed upgrade. We picked it up from him yesterday. So, as far as the exhaust goes, we're set.

Thanks!

Keep us posted on that. Was the old flange still in place, or did you end up having to weld it back on? Nice to have met you!

Part of the problem is insuring the car as a recreational vehicle. I"m only allowed 5k miles per year, and a cruise to another state takes too big of a bite out of that.

Maybe a trailer one of these days....

Saves me a bundle. I can even suspend part of my insurance while it's parked during the winter to save even more.

Of course, you can only insure it as a recreational vehicle if you can stay under the yearly mileage limits. That means it's not a daily driver for me.

I was crying cuz i lost my baby!!!!! i'm 27, bought it myself, i was joking about the creepy thing, i'm so pissed that i never got to ride with you guys before my beautiful car was smashed, the insurance paid off my loan, I fought for more because they were ripping me off, i got a little more than their initial offer, had a couple grand leftover, not enough to buy another 8 so I got a GTI and still have my ninja, WOULD TOTALLY GO TO SEVENSTOCK WITH YOU EVEN IF I HAD TO GO ALONE LIKE LAST YEAR, BUT DON'T HAVE AN RX8 ANYMORE WAHAHAHAAHAHA i got a herniated disk or two from the accident. my neck kills and can't take pain killers during the day cuz i'm on the motorcycle. i'm in physical therapy twice a week and my medical bills are through the roof. I will sue the pants off that guy once this is all over. and if you're still reading this sob story of a rant, mine was definitely cursed. it had so many things happen to it i can't even list. I miss you guys, and your beautiful cars! *sniff*

You can still hang and come for a cruise/dinner whatever. You'll always be part of the club to us. Doesn't matter if you still have one or not, you appreciate it for the wonderful car that it is and that's what matters. Sorry about all the pain your having, I would sue the hell out of the ******* who hit you. Don't let him get away with trashing your car. Good luck.

En, bose is right. You are always one of us and you can be my co-pilot any time. PM me if you want to come on the cruise Saturday and you can either drive the GTI or ride with one of us. Several ladies in the club so you won't be the only one.

It will be therapeutic for you, I promise!

En, snowboard is a massage therapist. If your PT allows, look him up for his professional services. And my wife says he's cute. (Grrrr.....)
