OK, if Dave checks-in before tomorrow afternoon, and it works for him we'll firm-up a time. I'm guessing something like between 7 and 8, but we'll see what shakes out.

That works for me. I dont have work or any plans so anytime is fine with me. Also JT I was wanting to get a set of eyelids in Nordic Green. Are you still doing this? Can you do that color? We can talk about it tomorrow.

OK, tomorrow is looking good. I'm thinking in the Circuit City parking lot (should be plenty of room there, lol) at say, 7:30? Will that work for both of you? Or would 8:00 be better?

I'll bring a sample set of eyelids for you to look at, though I can only paint them in Sunlight Silver right now. If you get your own paint, though, I'd shoot it on there for a fair price. We'll talk.

Closer to 8:00 would be better for me, as I usually get out of school between 7:00 and 7:30. Cool?

My DSL modem died last night, so until I can replace it I only have Internet access at work.
I'll be at Circuit City at Jordan Landing at 8:00 PM tonight with premix and a couple of squeeze bottles.

Be careful with power buffers bose. I've never seen one that didn't leave swirl marks (streaks) permanently in the paint.

That's why I'm not going to go out and just buy any old buffer. I want the best mostly gentile buffer I can find. It may not exsist, then I will just be force to get some more brutal arms and shoulders.

I have those damned swirl marks in my paint, but there is some polish that can remove them, and I also need to take a clay bar to it (little bit of overspray from something).
Okay, JT I will see you there. Thanks

Get a SLOW speed buffer, and they type of bonnet you use is important. I can't recall now, but some materials are less abrasive than others. The type of polishing compound you use, in combination with the speed of the buffer and the bonnet material, are what determines if the paint gets damaged or not.

I think a random-action or dual-action (orbital) buffer is preferable to one that just spins around. Those are the worst.

I've already made up my mind to never use a mechanical buffer. If it takes most of a day to do it by hand, so be it.

Here's a new one:

The tach on my old Explorer decided to die today. I drove to work at 70mph and the tach sat at 1000 rpm the whole way.

Any ideas? How much are sending units? Easy to replace?

This thing just smells tax refund money. It only breaks in the spring, lol!

Old cars are great at sensing when you have extra money. They find out and magically you have less money. Not sure how much it would cost but the repair should be simple unless it's buried in the dash. Which wouldn't surprise me.

JT that's great about the eyelids, unfortunatly I am in school until 830. so we'll have to arrange something else.

It's sounding like we might still be there when you're out of school. You might want to text or call when class lets out. Or I could meet you on the way home.

Where are your classes?

The dealer (and an independant mechanic) are both telling me that it will cost me about $80 just to diagnose it.

The dealer is almost positive that it will be in the dash, and they just replace the whole instrument cluster...a used one is about $150, a new one, even if one can be found for an 18-year-old car, would be around $400.

Of course, all my miles disappear...it's like getting a new...odometer! lol.

I may just live without a tach.
