Well had to have both tail light assemblies ordered, glue is no good so allows the water to get in, at least they both went bad at the same time. Mazda says NM heat gets to it. It would be interesting see if other Black 8's owners have similar issues, maybe the extra heat is why all my plastics are giving me so much trouble. Anyone have some performance upgrades planned in the future?

All I have in the future upgrade department Ocho is getting some new shoes. The DUNLOP SPORTS that came on it are about used up. I wish I could do some more but I think I am going to wait till the warenty runs out before I do much. I paid enough for it that I would rather not lose it. I have also now that you mention it noticed on the divers side tail light some moisture. I guess I will have to have it replacedas well.

I might have to take you up on that offer. I am thinking about purchasing one next year. However I have been keeping an eye out for a solid supercharger to be sold. I know there are several companies still working on getting a reliable one and that they can actually sell.

My next purchase will be flywheel and racing clutch. I really need more power, I own a saturn ION Red Line and it currently smokes my 8 on straight out drag race . Of course cornering and the driving experience the eight is superior. It would be great to meet up with you to see your car.

oh dear god.... the Saturn beats the stock 8?... that's disgraceful...

Where do you work? At the base, by chance? I'd love to show you my boosted 8! I love it! We'll go for a spin. That'll make you rethink your strategy of waiting until next year!!

Hey stinger....thanks for asking about FL. We didn't go. I wasn't about to travel into a hurricane. It just didn't strike me as too smart given I wasn't a responder (of any kind) for the storm. I didn't consider it much of a vacation. We'll go later....after hurricane season is over.

Everyone in the family made it through the storm just fine. They all were a bit too far north to be impacted much beyond rain and some wind....nothing near hurricane force. I don't even think they were impacted any by lose of power. Just lucky...this time.

As for the web page....who is your ISP? Are your planning on your own or just planning on posting to something like this forum?

Yeah I all most cried as it pulled away. I acutally have about 10 more HP than the stock 8 with my exhaust and cold air intake. I would definitely want to see and ride in your 8. I work near Menaul and University area M-F.

I am glad to hear that everyone is doing OK. My co-worker and his family is/was planning to Cancun Mexico in November. I do not think they are going to follow through with it though.

My ISP is comcast. I was originaly just going to post it to basicaly this forum. That way maybe the other 8 members out there from Albuquerque could see it and maybe gather some interest in joining us next time. But since that was not working I was trying my own web page through comcast but have not been able to get as far as to figureing out how to post it there as of yet.

Hey

I also ran into another 8 at Sandia on Wednesday. I talked to the owner as she got out of her Silver 8 and told her about RX8club.com. She said she would check it out so maybe there will be another one at the next get together.

Where on Menaul and University do you work? I am down in that area of town quite a lot M-F. A lot of the suppliers that I use through work (JB Henderson Const.) are located in that area.

I work for T-Mobile, it's closer to the frontage road, across from Twin Mountain Construction.

Hey Ocho

I did drive by T-Mobile yesterday (I was in the area 11-01-05) and was going to look you up. I just did not realize that it was such a big Facility and since I did not know your name or if it would be alright I did not go in.

Hey everyone!

I saw another Yellow 8 today (11-2-05) at University Mazda. It looked like it had some exhaust mods done to it as well as an after market spoiler. I wrote out a note and gave it to one of the service managers that was there in hopes that he might give it to the owner of the 8. Maybe there may be someone new from Albuquerque to enter this forum soon.

Welcome Ace

I am glad you found the site but I have to admit "IT WASN'T ME" who left you the note. I have left only one note and that was yesterday on a yellow 8. And CONGRATULATIONS on an exelent choice of one fine driving machine!!!

I wish I could make it this weekend to get together. I have to many things to do between this weekend and next. I have family comming into town this weekend and during the middle of the week I have to drive to Southern Colorada to pick up my wifes Grandmother then take her back to Colorado next weekend most likely on Saturday. Every one is comming in to watch my youngest Daughter dance in the Nutcraker Ballet at the Route 66 Casino on Thursday with the Moscow Ballet. If you are still in town next Sunday the 13th I think things will have died down some and maybe we can get together.

Hey Stinger,

Yeah my work parking lot is pretty big, I usually only drive my 8 once or twice M-F. Putting the miles on my Saturn Redline and less door dings for the 8. Our security guards have itchy trigger fingers so best bet is to get in touch via phone or email and try to meet up on a lunch break or weekend. I know of 3 rx-8's in town that I can leave a note to visit the forum. Justin is my name by the way.

Who owns the Black (Maybe Shinka, didn't get the best look) 8 in the neighborhood just off of Unser and Ellison? I've driven through a few times and seen it, but never seem to have a pen or paper to leave a note.

Cool, hopefully next week we can get together. Ill post something on here for where ill be. O and everyone on here can send me e-mail at Ace1810@gmail.com if you want to get ahold of me quicker.

Thanks,
Steve

p.s. What exhaust would you all recommend for a nice sound but not that fake echo chamber noise. I just want that classic rotary sound but a bit louder. Thanks

Ocho

Write as many notes as you can. The way I see it the more interest that we can raise in this site and forun the better for everyone involved. I think it would be grat if by this spring there was 50 to 100 members of the New Mexico Forum and we could get together for a ralley or such. Also with more information and input from other 8 owners then our knowledge of the 8 is sure to increase as well. So good luck 8 hunting!

With all the new folks in the area (ABQ) I was wondering if planning something of a get together on the 20th (Nov) would be something most people could attend. Nothing special in mind just yet, but I wanted to throw it out to see what everyone thought. If you will be in the area and would/could attend a gathering of the 8's please post here....

In.

BTW, there is another track opportunity this weekend. Here's the info

NM Sportscar Challenge: Inaugural Military Appreciation Sportscar Challenge at Sandia Motorsports Park Nov. 12. It’s open to all sports cars and sports sedans, and instructors will accompany first-timers. It will be a five-lap autocross format on the road course. Tech inspection begins at 7:30 a.m., track talk will be at 8:30 and driving begins at 9:30. Cost is $50 and military folks have priority, but non-military are welcome on a space-available basis. Bring your own lunch, water and sunscreen, and a post-event social is planned
