Colorado?
Does anybody here drive a blue rx with a wing on the back and a exhaust, flash there brights at a yellow rx on alameda around brodwayish a few days ago? anyways if you did nice ride... and if anybody is board tomorrow night i drinking at the old chicago on colo. blv. for my birthday getting there 10ish so just an open invite.
Thanks again for the ride and tips today Mark! It is very impressive what seat time and tires can make with the same vehicle.
I have a lot to learn still, and a lot of places to improve my abilities. But it was a lot of fun, and am excited to get back out there--if only to redeem my last run. Boy that was embarrassing haha.

It was great to meet you and to see you out there.
I would recommend looking into the autocross school as it give you a ton of seat time as will the driver's school at HPR.
Let me know when you will be out again and I'll help out however I can.
By the way, the run you rode with me was good enough for 3rd in 'X' class if it had counted, so you picked a good one.

Hi Flying? Was it you and your father I met at a winter Autox last year? (Mark and Mark?) I spent last weekend at the the Pirelle World Challenge with Don Walker who has 2 Rx-8s. I had a great time out there helping out and watching. I have an itch to go do some AutoX again and even some open track days at PPIR and HPR.
Hey, That was me. I was driving home from Chipotle on Logan. If you are on here join up at CMZC.net. We have monthly meets and in the summer we usually do a few cruises. I have the Blue 8 you saw (TC) and another grey 8.
I love the yellow 8s. They are rare. Wish I could find one cheap. I'd ****** it up.

Yea, we met last year, but I am the father. My son is driving a X Prepared 3rd gen RX-7 that he is fine tuning at this point. He had the fastest raw time on Sunday, but he coned on all runs. He is trying to learn some new Avon slicks that are very fast, but are very different than Hoosiers.
My car is not running well right now, since I put the BHR coils in. I am going to pull them out and send them back to Charles to check them out. Power is just down overall.
Hope to see you out again sometime soon.

Hi Flying 8 - Do you have an AP tune? If so you might want to touch base with Jeff as there was an issue found with the older tunes. Something about Dwell settings being waay off causing power loss.

HydrO, when will you be out next? I wanted to see this last round, but work went sideways.
Supposedly, you don't have to change the dwell on completely stock cars, (which of course you can't do anyway), from what I have read.

Ah...sorry...I assumed that the BHR coils pushed you out of stock. And yes...dwell must be changed for FI...but I have seen NA cars have problems without the dwell being changed from Jeff's old default.
I am going to pull them off and send them to Charles to have him look at them and he said he would evaluate them.
I appreciate all your input.

slvrstreak - Ah...shows you what a little time away from the forum will do ya.
Mark - yea...I'm sure you weren't the first to take issue with that ruling. Some of those rules for stock are rough. I understand stock is stock...but to bump people up to an uncompetitive class over some of the items is just silly.

Of course I purchased these and they were shipped in May or June,2011 and then the SEB sent out a tech bulletin that may the coils illegal right before Nationals, which ticked of a lot of people and I'm sure, as you said mobilized a lot of people.
After I installed my coils, the car started slower, idled just as rough as before, felt down on power and got lower mileage. I ran a complete grounding kit to ensure that they were properly grounded also. It could be that some of these new coils are not up to the level of the old ones, but they weren't performing as well as my 40,000 mile stock coils.
We'll see what Charles comes up with after I pull them out.

The coils are not illegal for Solo2. In fact the revsion correcting their original assessment is in fact another improper rule change that will again need another revision to straighten out this mess.
I won't make it out till June. The next one is the 19th, but I'll be at HPR doing the driving school.
Also, I might want to take Bladecutter up on his offer of getting a wrench weekend organized. I have my ss clutch and brake lines ready to install, and I might want to switch over to HP+'s after the track event.

anyone have experience in making Hawk Ceramic pads quiet? Warm or Cold my pads squeek when applied lightly, stomp on them and you're fine. Not so annoying in the winter months with the windows up...but super annoying now.

Well, Iluvrevs has the perfect tool to make that job way easier when it comes time to bleed the air out of the system. Get him involved, too, and the day can be a great group event, all we would then need is some witnesses, if there were any interested.

No experience but my new EBC's are the same way as were my OEM after my first track day. It doesnt bother me but for giggles Ive greased their backs, between them and the shims, between the shims and the caliper, and between the pad and the caliper and it doesnt last long. Im using CRC synthetic and its running out it looks like.
The Yellowstuff pads, with those fiber backing pads that I had to cut to shape are actually working really well at keeping everything nice and quiet, surprisingly enough.
Every now and again I get a bit of a squeak, but nowhere near the amount the OEM pads do, or that the redstuff pads are currently doing on my gf's PT Cruiser.
