^^^ I drive my car.
So my results were less than spectacular. Last place in STX (7 of 7), BUT I missed 6th by .007 seconds, and if I didn't cone my last run I would of had 4th place.
Overall, 100th out of 124 PAX.
Obviously improvements are available. But I am quite satisfied with my improvement run after run, and actually had a great time despite the heat. I look forward to the next once!

As of late my car has had more large backfires than normal. I am used to the pops that occur every time I shift; however, as of late I'm probably getting at least 1 large backfire every 2 days. The other day I even had three within two drive cycles. I'm currently thinking that it is just a simple misfire because I'm at 45K miles on original coils and plugs; but I wanted a second opinion.
Sounds like you already know what you should check first.
You can either replace just the plugs, or the plugs and the wires, or test the coils with a timing light, and then replace more bits.
If your coils are going bye-bye, you might have done damage to the convertor already, hence the big backfires.
BC.

Don't have a cat on the car at the moment. As to the second opinion I am looking for...just wanted assurance that I am barking up the right tree here. It wouldn't be the first time that I had some crazy half baked idea that was way off.
Bill called me Saturday night and said he was going to withdraw. I did not agree with him but respected his reasons and so we did not run. Turns out probably the best decision, as it was really effed up the whole day. Glad that for once, I stayed home.
