Colorado?
Hey everyone. Just purchased an 04 RX8 2 weeks ago. Turbo kit is goin in as we speak. I was just wondering if any of you ever get together on a weekend to just drive or if you know of any RX8 get togethers? Im from Colorado Springs and would love to just cruise with a group of RX8's.

Which turbo kit did you go with?
Thanks Darth. I ended up going with the Greddy kit. It seems to work best with the stock set up and it comes with e-manage which is a nice feature. I also prefer the Greddy kit because it is pretty easy to upgrade if i wish to down the road.
We havw some 'fixes' for the poor design of the Greddy, here in the Tech section. They will help you get the most performance and longest life out of your new kit.
I use a Greddy too, welcome aboard!

If you ever deceide to upgrade I would contact Mazdamaniac (Jeff Abrams, mazdamaniac.com). He sells an upgrade to the greddy kit that nets some serious power. Wish I had the money to go FI, maybe in a couple of years.
I am taking my 8 to the dyno (SR Tuning) in a few weeks. I was trying to get more people in the area so that we could do a group day at a discounted rate, but only two wanted to play.
If you need your ECU tuned after your install you can get it done at SR Tuning here in the springs. Or you can by an Accessport from mazdamaniac and he will do it for you.
Hello again!
This is a note for the new RX-8 owners. I bought mine new in July 2004; it had 3 miles on it. I just passed 23,500 miles on the ODO. Other that maintenance, ECU flashes, and new tires last month, I have not paid ANY extra for repairs on the car. Still loving it after almost 5 years!
I put my favorite photo on my website (we own the 88 Drive-In Theatre in Commerce City). Take a look: www.stevekochevar.com. Enjoy your 8! I do!

I don't think I can ever give this car up. It just feels so new and great everytime I get in it. No other car I have driven gives the same satisfaction. Well mebe the Mazda5 I got for a rental a few weeks back.
Found cheap 05 that took a dip in fresh water
Hey all,
I am looking for a cheap RX8 and found one that apparently went for a fresh water dive. The car runs and drives fine but I wanted to see what you guys think before I even look at it. Was it someone's car here? It's a grey 05. Your advice appreciated.

Just hit 1K miles on it. Been a total blast so far. I've had 2 other sports (sporty) cars, an 89 Nissan 240sx and a 2000 Celica GTS. The RX is waaaaaaay better than either of those.
I bought my 04 new and just in the past few months its been getting good remarks from people. The eye doctor last Friday and then the people manning the drive through at McDonalds and Wendy's. Remarks are "that's an 04? it looks so new" Mine has 16K on it and it has snow tires for the first time. Course I wonder now because this weather we've had that all I am doing is wearing out snowtires. They were expensive. That's the only thing I've spent on the car is tires. Still with recalls and all the car has had two batteries, 3 sets of new spark plugs, a new stronger starter and some sort of shield over the gas tank? of course the computer hits too that helped it out some. Still its like a new car to me and I try to take care of it. Seems the rocks flying from other cars that pass by or I am following, seems to be the worst. Just a few pits in the windshield a few nicks on the hood from flying missiles. The car handles well. I am kind of use to the somewhat slow take off but love it each time it reaches 25 MPH and then starts to take off. Kind of neat but its the nature of a rotary. My first ever and my first sports car. I don't really want to get another. Corvettes are good but this car is unique and you just don't see a lot of them around. I also have a silver 02 Accord and you see those lined up at red lights all over town. Not with an RX though. So we are a unique crowd I guess. I saw at the dealer up on the wall in the service department a chrome air cleaner for the RX. Its the new filter type too that I think takes a special cleaning kit to clean it. I've heard that improves performance. Not sure but it looks neat. Interesting that a Mazda dealer was showing it and selling them.
Hey everyone. Its been a while since Ive posted, but I just wanted to check in on how all the colorado RX8 owners are doing. I just can't get over how much i love to drive the RX8 (the turbo kit does help). I still have a few mods to take care of before im done for a while. Just ordered my Greddy Exhaust and also picked up a set of lowering springs (1.4 in the front and 1.25 in the rear). I think it will make the car look even more aggressive. Anyways I hope all of you are doing well. I hope this nice weather sticks around.
Hey to All. Newbie Here. Bought a 2004 Black 8 two weeks ago. It is in excellent shape. Took a trip to Vegas via Amarillo across I-40 thru New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada. Then up thru Utah and back across I-70. It ran fantastic and I really loved taking back winding roads. After the trip I love the RX8 more than when I bought it. I was amazed at how many compliments I recieved on the car. Really enjoyed Valet parking it at the Mirage and the Bellagio.Hoping to find other Denver area drivers that want to set up a Poker Run one of these weekends or if anyone knows of a local weekend get together please let me know.
See Yall on the Roads
I forgot to ad my email address if anyone wants to set up a Poker Run you can email me atZoomBob@comcast.net
