Betsy,

could you post a pics of the kits parts? I think people need to see the quality of the header and components.

Is this going to work "out of the box" ? I know it will be better tuned and all, but like doing things myself and want to be able to have fun with the kit and not have to worrie about finding a good tunner also before i can even use it.

Also will the kit be sold for a lower price w/o the Interceptor-X? Some people may just want the type 1 but already have an Interceptor-X.

I can vouch for the quality of this kit......Mazsport Scott has done an awesome job with these kits. At SS he said that they are all modular as well. If you decide to change...there are the required pipes to convert between all the kits.

299/196@8 - untuned Dyno

304/199@8 - conservative tune on 91 octane

Dynoed at 335/255@12 but started losing spark. No Graph up yet (tonight).

A quick shot of the kit that may or may not be all the parts:

Parts List (From what I can tell):
Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC)
T04 Hybrid Turbo
Mazsport Fuel System Upgrade (Fuel Pump Assembly, Primary and Secondary Injectors)
Mazsport Intcerptor X Engine Management System
SS Oil Lines for the Turbo w/ oil pan fitting
Externally Vented BOV
External Wastegate
SS Mandrel Bent Tubular Exhaust Manifold
Filter to Compressor, Compressor to FMIC, FMIC to TB piping
Manifold to Turbine, Wastegate to After Turbine, Turbine to Midpipe Exhaust Piping
Vacuum Lines
Air Filter (Hopefully)
Solid Engine Mounts
Necessary Couplers, Reducers, Zip Ties, Brackets, and Pipe Clamps to get the show on the road.

Some Shots from SS9 stolen from RG/Brillo's Blog:

Now, that's what I seen as far as recent information - some excellent, excellent stuff. I do have some questions:

1. Does this all run off of stock sensors? Are there included/replacement sensors for Intake Temp? EGT? MAP?
2. What is the design focal point of the system as far as boost level is concerned?
3. Given that you've just gotten some kits up and running (without issue I might add - which shows strength of design), do you know/will you be looking at resulting charge temps, water temps under boost, and EGTs etc to determine what the reasonable limit of the kit is?
4. Is it a ball bearing or bushing turbo (I think I read it was ball bearing) and does it employ a water jacket or just oil cooling?
5. Is an oil line restrictor included?
6. Is the Greddy Oil pan a direct replacement for drilling/fitting your OEM pan? Same size/style fitting on the same side of the pan?
7. Does the upgraded fuel pump assembly show any improved performance against fuel starvation in high-G cornering? Does the core charge of $200 usually associated with the fuel system upgrade still apply?
8. Is an air filter included? It wasn't shown in Slavearm's parts pic, but would seem obvious. Where is it located in the car? If it is in the engine bay, is it in the radiator/IC flow or is it routed up to the front?
9. Will the FMIC fit in a stock bumper? The displayed kit was in a MS type bumper with a much larger and lower opening.
10. The wastegate ships with a 5lb spring for approximately 6psi out of the box boost?
11. Any thought to including the Mazsport cooling upgrade with the kit?
12. Color options on the couplers and tubing? Some of us have color schemes to keep up!!

1. Runs off of some stock sensors, and the MAP sensor included in the Interceptor
2. Out of the box comes with a 5lb spring that nets 6-8psi. You can add a boost controller and hit at least 16 (ask me how I know)
3. EGT While running it up (over 40 minutes) is about 680C according to my Defi, water temps with fan kit installed never exceeded 86C, I do no know the charge temps
4. Ball Bearing and Water Cooled
5. Not sure didn't install myself
6. Greddy would work. I am thinking about it myself, but it uses the stock drain plug hole as a drain line. Works great.
7. Core charge still applies, but I have not had any starvation issues taking corners rediculously fast
8. I picked up an air filter myself. Not sure if it is normally included. KN0930 is the normal one, if you want something fancy RR3001,RR3002,RR3003 will work as well.
9. It was in a Ings+1 and a MS bumper. It would be tight, might have to trim a little in the back, but should definately fit. You do lose the low speed impact bar though.
10. 5lb spring runs 6-8 PSI
11. I bought it myself. It isn't that expensive
12. Blue worked great for me.

PS-Love that Zaino Shine... you can see me in the reflection I think.

I know, with these kits so close to my NA 8, what is a girl to do? This turbo kit is ideal for autocross or any enthusiast that wants that balance. I autocross with a Miata group here in Tampa and this would be an awesome kit to roll up in…it’s hard is all I can say…

Is this going to work "out of the box" ? I know it will be better tuned and all, but like doing things myself and want to be able to have fun with the kit and not have to worrie about finding a good tunner also before i can even use it.
The Interceptor-X has maps for you to use, but I would have to say that it would be really be unwise to invest in a turbo and not spend the money to tune it. Street tuning and dyno tuning are really important with rotarys….This is something that I would strongly advise budgeting into your plan if you decide to go turbo.

Also will the kit be sold for a lower price w/o the Interceptor-X? Some people may just want the type 1 but already have an Interceptor-X.
We know a lot of members have purchased items like the Fuel Pump Upgrade Kit or the Interceptor-X. I have the Interceptor-X in my car like a lot of you. We haven’t broken these kits down without the Interceptor-X but will discuss it when we are all back from our California trip. Mazport appreciates the support you guys have given us and will figure that out shortly.....

Will these silicone hose and couplers fit the Greddy turbo kit ? If so I would replace my original greddy hoses etc.

I feel cheated now... mine did not come with the air filter =(

And also, you forgot the 10' of 1/4" soft copper line for the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line.

Does this mean that a blow off valve is included? If so, what are the options? This kit looks really good.
