Was this a mustang dyno or dynojet? Mustang dynos usually give lower numbers.

Peak hp at 6k? That's weird.
Here's my dyno w/ Interceptor and my peak hp was around 7200 rpms.

I didn't gain anything after that. After 7K HP was going downhill. No point in going to 9K

It is a mustang dyno

Well first, The guy at the dyno seriously owes you $340 if the problem was his o2 sensor.

I thought you said the boost was peaking at 14psi and then holding at 11 when on the street. On the dyno is it different, meaning on the dyno is the car not getting enough air in for turbo to hold boost? If so, this is a good example on why dyno charts shouldn't be held as the ultimate measure of performance.

Also there is the whole factor of your altitude level and dyno numbers being less favorable than for those of us that are closer to sea level.

Anyway... keep up the good work. Your helping answer alot of questions for the rest of us.

Hi Harry. In the street I was peaking at 14 psi and then holding 11psi. In the dyno i don't know why but it dropped to around 8 psi.
I don;t know the reason. Intercooler was hot on dyno too. Around 45 C

hmmm.... there seems to be quite a variation in results, even though we all have basically the same mods.

nice torque figure, BTW.

I agree. Ýou seem to be disappointed with the hp, but keep in mind a Mustang dyno reads considerably lower than a dynojet.

Those are great numbers for a mustang dyno! Especially for the torque.

Hey Drifter, are your numbers in your signature from a Dynojet or mustang?
Just curious... My car was very consistent between 242 and 247 WHP in like 25 runs. I dont see how u can get 293WHP

247 HP on a Mustang is prob about 290 on a Dynojet

Most stock cars are dynoing 150 ish on a Mustang and 180ish on a Dynojet

Good job LS, are you enjoying the results? Question, what elevation above sea level are you? Scott

LS,

mine was done on a Dynojet by a reputable rotary tuner here in MD (PF Supercars). Ray, the owner, posted a thread with dyno results in the Mazsport forum:

https://www.rx8club.com/mazsport-104/interceptor-x-review-w-dyno-pics-77450/

Before the Interceptor-X, the car peaked at 258 rwhp. And yeah, that was with the crappy E-manage. As many have noted with bone-stock 8s, there seems to be difference in almost every car, as far as (dyno'd) performance is concerned. Not sure why mine is different, as I have the same mods, more or less, than most turbo'd 8 owners running the Interceptor-X. However, I think Moostafa29, adrian-1, and others are either right around my numbers or they're close.

LS

Actually, this should read more like "So therefore we can say the second graph shows what 15psi was able to accomplish against 7psi."

Very good point MD. The benifit of much more accurate tuning will increase power but more cfm is required to make noticable increases in torque and horsepower. (Unless of course it is one of the really bad running cars) So perhaps "Since the addition of the Interceptor-X engine management system, I was able to extract noticable gains in about two hours of dyno time by tuning and increasing the boost pressure."

"Totally worth it. Thumbs up Scott.

LS"

LS let me say for a guy that has never done any Turbo Rotary tuning you did very well and thanks for the feedback, Scott

P.S. Again, what elevation are you at?

Tuning is fun

Hi Scott, we are at 3900 ft above sea level.

I tuned the cruising map while looking at the AF ratio. Now it is always around high13's and low to mid 14's while cruising at any RPM.

The system works great. I love the AFR 02 system.
Really reccomend this to all people running interceptor. Worth every penny. Before I was runnin hig 18's even 19's during cruising, thanks to this "plug in the pc 02 sensor" I was able to set it up to safely tune my engine during cruising.

THe other thing I noticed is that before tuning cruising the engine would hesitate when i went WOT. I guess it is because it was too lean. Now the response is way better, almost inmediate.

Again, thanks for such a great product and for the incredible support with the system. (ALMOST 2 HRS OVER THE PHONE) Try that with Dell or HP. LOL.
