Thumbs up Fuel Pump Upgrade Kit

Fuel Pump Upgrade Kit

This fuel pump supports up to 400RWHP. It is a plug-n-play design which accomodates the forced induction application through a rising rate pressure regulator. This Kit converts the RX-8 to a return type system.

It is about a 3 hour install.

price without core $ 799.49
core credit $ 200.00
price with core $ 599.49

Mazsport can install this for you if you want to come in, just remember to have a 1/4 tank of gas or less in your vehicle.....

Take care of those turbos....

I understand that things cost and ya'll do make good products but "damn" a $600 fuel pump/system upgrade? I guess if you are going to FI you had better open your wallet. I wish there was a kit available for us average guys that are NA and are having fuel starvation issues at the track. ANy thing you can do for us? Maybe exclude that rising rate regular etc.
Thanks for the consideration.

I dont think the fuel pump upgrade is that expensive if you compare other mods for the 8....

I think it is priced appropriately for what it entails.....exhausts go for $500-$1k...why would you want a cheap version of something that could potentially go bad or potentially harm your engine.

This is perfect for your type of use (motorsports) of the NA RX8 as well as the turbos....

i don't know, I just think that if people are out there buying intakes for their NAs that gain about 4HP, pulleys that are silly....and spending the money for little performance changes....why is this too much?

this product is functional, valuable and a quality product from a company that prides themselves in their work...

i have seen the home made fuel pumps for the RX8 and I wouldnt mess with it ever. The inconvenience alone of stopping on the road when connections are bad or what in theory seems to work doesnt, isnt a risk i am willing to take with my 8. Scott is using a fuel pump that is much larger than a Walbro for the added reliability.

If anyone is serious about their 8 enough to want a turbo or are thinking about the fuel system, this is the product to buy. If you have a Greddy Turbo and haven't addressed your fuel situation yet, consider this as additional safety.

Girl stepping off of her soap box....

WHoa man-- Hold on dude! I think you maybe got the wrong impression! I wasn't complaining about the product at all--like I said --I know things cost and this is a good product. I never said it cost too much for what it is. Hell I know a good rising rate regular ALONE can be $200 .I was only wondering if you could come up with a less involved and less expensive solution to fix the fuel starvation issues we NA guys have on the track. Like I said, could the rising rate(dont need that with NA) be excluded etc. Just asked for help because yall know a lot more about this than I. Didnt need someone on the soapbox. So if this is the way it is --nevermind---sorry to waste your time.

I just thought that since I am not FI (at least yet) that the present system may be a bit overkill.

Would anyone know if this would work na without any effect with the rise rate restrictor? I did a search but cam yp with nothing. Reason being that I want to get all these mods before getting the turbo so that scott and load in the right map based on all my mods. Also does this come with injectors because it does for the complete turbo kit.

you can install the fuel pump upgrade NA and drive fine. we have installed several into NA track RX8s and they run well...

you wouldnt upgrade the injectors until you added the turbo....

How difficult is it to install? Or put another way, why does it take you 3 hrs? Is it really that involved? ... not just taking one pump out and putting the other in?

You have to dismantle your driver side rear...take out seats and the cover.
Run the Vac line from the front to the regulator, open the tank ( need the tool to do it easily) remove the old pump.....put in the new one and re-do the fuel lines.....

I think that about covers it? I've had that area all apart a few times......

I'll see soon hopefully with Scott's setup....mine is coming......

If you need a shop to complete the fuel pump install for you, I highly recommend you have the shop complete your turbo kit as well.

Well since this product has been developed we have been selling it like hot cakes. Lots of people are using it for non turbo race applications.

Anyone have any feedback?

i know this is a really n00b question...

What exactly does this do for your car? I just got my 2004 RX-8 and i'm trying to learn as much as i can about cars (Since i have never really concerned myself with how cars work / mods, etc.)

thnx

We typically bill 3 hours for installation.
