(FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DID NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL!!)
The calibration you received recently will not function because of a bug in the current AccessTUNER software and its relationship to the current AccessPORT firmware.
If you downloaded your most recent update, you undoubtedly found it to be “grayed-out” in the tuning menu on your AccessPORT. This is NOT something that you have done wrong and there is nothing you can do on your own to correct the issue at this time. This is NOT an issue with your AccessPORT hardware.
I have submitted a bug report with Cobb and they will be providing me with an update to my software that will allow me to correct the situation. Hopefully, this update will come my way relatively soon. Until then, I hope you will bear with me as there is nothing I can do to correct this situation until then.
You will receive another e-mail once the bug has been addressed indicating that you can download the updated version of the most recently transmitted calibration.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

If its a compatibility issue with the AccessTuner software, can't you just revert back to a previous version of the software and save the maps there?
Jeff appears to be a smart guy with computers so I'm sure its more complicated than that or else he would have just done it.

Even if I could, I would have to go back and redo three weeks of work.
Yes. The software is completely useless at the moment.
I sure hope not since ALL of their AccessTUNERs for the RX-8 are dead in the water until they do.
Since I service over 90% of the existing RX-8 market world-wide, I am the most affected by the problem. However, The RX-8 is a fractional market for Cobb, getting them to move quickly can be problematic.
I'm hoping for a solution before the end of the week.

I zoom therefore I am.
I really doubt cobb is going to take a "wait and see" approach to fixing the issue. It's in their best interest as a business to fix any issue that basically bricks their product. RX8 might be a small portion of their user base but every user will be reluctant to buy a product that a manufacturer allows to become useless through their inaction.

Good news! I just updated my accessport again because I was bored. Went out and tried it and it WORKED! Im running 1.5.0.2 on the accessport. It asked me to update my dongle when i plugged it into the car(never did that before) but it successfully loaded itself onto the car. So anyone having trouble try updating your accessport again.
edit: I also reinstalled the accessPORT updater as well

I too updated my AP and can now install my latest map
I ran into some "complications" along the way though...
I first downloaded/installed the AP Updater and AP Manager software using the links on the first page of this thread.
When I attempted to run the updater, the AP continuously said "Initializing..." and would never connect.
The Updater software said to press "Reconnect" on the main menu on my AP, but that never worked.
I also tried unplugging/reconnecting the USB connector and that didn't work either.
What was strange was that I was able to install the AP Manager software and connect to the AP without any issues.
I then closed the Manager software (so the AP said "Reconnect" on the menu) and went back into the Updater software and pressed reconnect on the AP.
But it still wouldn't connect/update the AP.
I then went to the Cobb's website and in their firmware section there are two links in the 'Step-by-step Instructions' section to download the latest Updater and Manager software.
http://www.cobbtuning.com/info/?ID=4106
I downloaded those and installed the updater.
To my surprise the Updater actually worked this time and updated my AP.
I then redownloaded my map through Jeff's direct link site and uploaded the newest map.
Once in my car I plugged the AP into the dongle and it wanted to update the dongle firmware.
Once the dongle was updated I was able to install my newest map.
No more grayed-out maps!!!
Thanks to Jeff and everyone at Cobb for their hard work!

I've downloaded as Jon & Jeff cite. The latest firmware (v1.5.0.2-11582) is installed to my AP and the dongle has in-car updated as well.
However, when trying to flash it says "... communicating with ECU" ...... and I give up after 2 minutes of no further change of state. It has never taken very long before to synch up. Guess I'll try a bit longer.
To be continued .............
