Believe me, 1 month is not the longest someone has waited for a tune. I got my AccessPORT shipped on 8/7/08 and I have never had a custom tune. My original NA data logs were submitted for months before I gave up and asked for the turbo base maps. I finally got the turbo base maps and all the new base maps became available on the site. Jeff changed his email structure and seemed to get organized a bit better so I purchased the MM upgraded turbo from him and submitted new NA logs to resolve issues with my intake/midpipe in the meantime. Those were submitted 1/6/09.

The car runs (not great) with the current maps, and Jeff is literally up to his eyeballs in stuff right now, so I am being patient, but I really really think he needs to change his advertising for the service. For starters I think he needs to raise the price of his tuning service included with the AccessPORT. He needs to change the advertised turnaround time between tunes from 48 hours to something even remotely close to the real time it takes. I also think he should completely stop taking any new orders of the AccessPORT with tuning service until his backlog is complete. I think the biggest problem is that expectations for the service don't line up to the reality. If customers were told up front that updated tunes could take between 4-12 weeks it would at least be a reasonable expectation and they could either plan around it, or make an informed decision about purchasing the AccessPORT.

Anyway, I'm not venting sour grapes about the service or bashing on Jeff, as I rather like him... I'm just the sort of person who doesn't shy away from calling people (including close friends and family) out on things and I expect the same from them. I am greatful for the service Jeff provides, and obviously his knowledge is significant, but its silly seeing people constantly posting "where is my tune" because they expect a 48 hour turnaround.

Well to be fair, after his new routine the longest I've waited is now, which is just under 4 weeks, and this is the second "performance" tune in that case. But compared to 48 hours I guess it's better to say a longer time to adjust expectations.

ok, I am going to keep posting this till I get an answer...

Jeff, I need to know what to do here...I pm'd you but I doubt you got a chance to look at it.

My GReddy turbo took a dump so I am getting it rebuilt and upgraded.
Here are the specs:

- Machine compressor cover
- Install larger comp 28g wheel
- machine hotside flange at the downpipe to increase flow
- Clip the exhaust wheel to reduce back pressure
- port wastegate
- Balance the Rotating Assembly and Thrust Bearings

My question is...will this affect my calibration process at this point or do i need to start all over from scratch?
I have not got my 1st performance tune yet...the last logs I gave you were my first WOT runs, just to give you an idea where I am at on the calibration process.

Thanks.

So, MM. Now that your back from Vegas, I assume we can expect to see a tune coming to us Monday? there seems to be a lot of frustration going on here, in the form of private messages sent from a lot of upset people back and forth to each other. So, a good chime in on some type of status report might ease peoples minds. I'm just trying to be a mediator here and give you a heads up on what is going on, since people aren't going to explode at you in your thread. I don't think many people knew you were even going to Vegas to be honest as it wasn't posted.

I don't think alot of people consider 700$ access port or 300$ calibration to be chump change. So when they spend that sort of money. They are looking for a little support. If your going to be gone almost a month between calibrations, could you post that on your first page?

Put yourself in our shoes. If you spent 300$ on a calibration that lasts 6 months (which would be winter months). and you get 1 calibration per 3 weeks to a month. and you have 4 calibrations? your service is if you end up starting late.. or if anything is upgraded you have to start over. You get 1 Good calibration out of it.

This will be my first real calibration since I got the service in October. that I paid 300$ for. this means my 6 months ends in march. Will you honor me through until the entire calibration is complete?

MM,
All my stuff is completely up to date.. AP manager, Accessport, all are using the latest beta software/firmware. The map still won't load on my car. I don't know what else I should do to make it work..

^I understand that, but does the term adjustments mean start over from scratch or what...it could go both ways from that statement, hence my question. A simple yes or no would save everyone from all this drama. I don't see what the problem is. Whatever.

05rex: here's my advice. (but I'm not a turbo guru)
when the turbo is in, start it up and cruise around (out of boost) if the figures are in rage of safe operation, then I think you can go from there.
If they're way off, I would start back with the base turbo map. I know that's a hassle and it'll cause delays but better safe then sorry. Hell, some guys here get new maps when they swap out a mipipe or a CAI, I'd think for a different sized turbo, you'd want to go that route.

Just my $.02

if you're going to want to maximize flow with the new turbo specs you're going to want a new map.. yes.

generally anything altering airflow into the engine will require an adjustment of the tune.

^I know. But my question was if I needed to start over completely or just continue with where I am at in the calibration process. It's simple really.

Jeff - I didn't receive the "Received" email that you mentioned would be sent upon you successfully receiving the logs. Could you confirm that I sent everything in the correct format? Thanks!

It is my understanding (and front page info) that if you didn't get the received email within a couple of days it is pretty safe to assume that either he didn't get it, or you didn't send the correct information.
