New MazdaManiac BASE Calibrations
map 4.00 --> Logged, sent over data -- actually felt some extra midrange power
map 4.01 --> Great mid range power, 60 mph was at a lower rpm, and little to no backfiring, Increased mpg.
map 4.02 --> (Current) My mpg got worse, more backfires, hard starts -- guessing its either too rich or the 10 degree weather is making my car run like crap lol....
(yes I realize your probably not up to my name again in the quell - just sharing

I think I might know what the problem is..
Turbulence.. I have an Intake hole in my bumper, and that goes right into the air filter, so basically when i'm moving it's pushing turbulent air into the air filter, I blocked off the intake hole in my bumper and it seems that the idle got a little better while decelerating. I guess it likes to suck in the air instead of being forcefed
I'm going to have to come up with something because it's still a little stumbly. so I'll have to come up with some ducting scheme or something. Hey, MM. will I have to redo my calibration? or should I continue with 4.01 after I get the ducting done?

Airinx from the greddy kit. it's still doing it after I plugged the hole in my intake, put 2 screens in 1 before and 1 after the MAF. I don't think the maf is the problem. I looked at my datalogs and the Mass Airflow readings look pretty stable. they are not jumping all over the place or anything. The car isn't even in boost. I can be in vaccum and whenever i'm moving coming to a stop it stumbles and stalls.. other than the decel problem, it drives really nice.

The intake is your problem most likely, everything you are saying that is happening to you happened to me when I had that intake, stalling, stumbling everything. The problem is that the maf housing is the wrong size. Change your intake to the AEM one and all your problems should be solved.
I'm not using the greddy MAF tubing. I'm using custom 3.5" dia 6" from maf sensor. the way it's supposed to be. with 2 screens in it to straighten airflow.. trust me, maf isn't the problem (at least the tubing isn't) . it's something else.
I'm the original owner.
MM came to a tuning day outside chicago & I bought it new from him last summer.
