Speaking of which, this may be a dumb question. I believe it's the scanalyzer or another similar product that give you your estimated HP. How do these products accomplish this? I was wondering if the Cobb can do the same, that is if Cobb rights software for it (not sure how complicated).

However, the various calibrations wot change your power much.
Read the thread. They are just different in the way the MAF is calibrated.
I would have to provide you with different tunes after you have the bas calibration set correctly.
Wait for that until you bother to dyno it.

see if it has any features to record acceleration over time. e.g. try like 5mph to redline acceleration in 2nd gear to gauge. COBB says they are working on a virtual dyno feature.

I have scan tool/logger called Auto Enginuity and it has a module called Speedtracer that does it this way.

I don't think it's that hard to implement this. Just a few calculations for loaded pulls in 2nd or 3rd gear to redline should be able to give an approximate hp rating.

the problem is the speed or rpm signal has noise in it, which gets amplified when you integrate with it ,and then gets amplified again with each additional correction. You can do some best fit line calcs, but its best to suppliment with a gps or accelerometer to accurately get the noise out.

i have a spreadsheet that does this... does sae weather corrections, accounts for drag based on the cod and estimated frontal area, also adds back in the power to drive the front wheels and rotors to simulate a chassis dyno... its not hard, just entry level kinetic energy physics equations

Of course there are tons of factors like temp, elevation... But it will be close enough

I flashed the "MM 2005 MT TURBO v1_0" map and after many drive cycles my LTFT was +5 so I flashed the "MM 2005 MT TURBO v1_2a" and now my LTFT is +2.
Should I flash "MM 2005 MT TURBO v1_3a" to try and get my LTFT closer to zero or will that flash get me into the negative fuel trims?

did the firmware upgrade without a hitch...
I can not believe how much of a gas hog 1st and 2nd gears are. Doing like 20mph i was getting 5mpg in 1st gear, 10mpg in 2nd, like 20 mpg in 3rd, and like 30mpg in 4th gear... yeeesh

My avg MPG was reading 17.7-18.5, thats way better than what I calculated by using a full tank of gas and my trip meter a while back. It was 14.7-15.2 even with 1/4 of the driving on the highway. I wonder how much of that improvement is becasue of the Mazsport ignition?
Jeff I sent you a reply mail for the confirmation of the Firm ware update and I included a data log with your 1_2a, I did a first gear pull to 9000 from 5 mph and a couple of 2nd gear pulls as well.
I wanted to log more info but the area I wanted to use was occupied, there was a dead motorcyle rider being tended to by a bunch of cops and ambulances.
mysql, that makes me not trust the 0-60 calculator on there anymore, but if its right... Beware Bugatti's mysql is on the road!

While working with the AP I discovered an important field that had not yet been made active. It's one of those features common in stand alone ECU's or the Interceptor-X and is an important tool for tuning. It will further enhance the AP's ability's once the power levels start to increase.
I need to get you a link to update your version of the tuner software so you can help MYSQL and some of the other guys.

Mazda changes the dwell quite a bit, it's a very useful function when tuning.

Since the coil sets I've been playing with don't do that, I decided that it was more important to me to have the other features I needed implemented at that time (A/T support and a few other things I can't talk about yet).

Actually, he asked me about it 3 weeks go.
Its only useful if you have coils that are, effectively, pulling timing as the RPMs increase because of excessive dwell time.
Since the coil sets I've been playing with don't do that, I decided that it was more important to me to have the other features I needed implemented at that time (A/T support and a few other things I can't talk about yet).
