Really glad to hear this is becoming an every Tuesday thing. Was looking forward to getting my car tuned this coming Tuesday, but the current forecast has snow flurries this weekend with barely above freezing temps next week. Not sure I'll bother putting the insurance back on the 8 yet...
Come on Tuesday after this one!

First taste of summer weather I'll probably get will be at the Deal's Gap Rally.
I just want to get my car tuned before the trip.
That sounds nice right about this point. No such luck here. A few snow flurries today actually, although nothing is sticking. Should creep up above freezing temperatures this week.

Is it Tuesday yet?
For folks in Northern LA county I found the greatest place to collect data last night. Exit the 5 Fwy at Roxford Rd and run north along the West side of the 5 on San Fernando road. You can wait at each end until it is clear. Its been tough the previous times doing this with traffic or curves in the road. I am guessing that us in Southern Cal all have difficulty finding the right road for this. i have not found anywhere near Gardena where I could make these runs in daylight so am doing one each tuning day which should still get me done by the end of April if not sooner.

Dumb question, but the ambient air temperature doesn't matter, right? The bit of snow that fell yesterday is gone, so I brought the RX8 out for it's season debut to go to work this morning. Air temp is 2C and according to the AP my intake air temp was 42F. I want to try and get a tune or two submitted today.
Upside is, car started for the first time of the year on the newly downloaded v1 map that MM sent me, and it fired up great and I'm pretty sure idled smoother than before. I'm really looking forward to getting this process completed.

I was thinking of taking the scenic route home from work and doing some logging on the way. If I understand this thread correctly, we no longer need two drive cycles, correct? Just put the map on, drive it long enough to warm it thoroughly, and then let it cool down?
You still DO need to do the 2 drive cycles. So be sure to do them so he doesn't reject your submission.
Why don't you read this thread thoroughly?
