I think you meant NOT working.

Cobb has had a lot of problems with there website lately.

Up and down, up and down.

They are also re-doing it so the links may be broken, old or no longer available.

This link was working as of yesterday: http://www.cobbtuning.com/accesstune...st-s/70716.htm Agree that they're having "other" more widespread problems. Page is currently hanging on load.

If you refresh it, it'll eventually load. That's the link for ATR btw.

I was able to download both the OS X and Windows AP setup files here: http://www.cobbtuning.com/AccessPORT...ort/ap-manager

Again it took a couple tries but they both eventually came down.

Cool those links worked eventually. I have installed the Mac software but it does not look like I am able to tune/edit the maps using my Mac. I can download the Maps and copy them to my Mac but then don't know how to get to the map to tune it.

I want to use the stage 1 tune but increase the rev limiter to 10,000. Well that's where I want to start anyway.

When working on my PC with the race tuner. I can edit the Stock map but don't know how to change to the stage 1 map. Which I want to copy and them make a few changes

just load it into ATR, make your changes, and save it. I do not believe any of the Cobb maps are copy protected.

There was only ever a handful of RX-8 maps beyond the base one that comes with ATR available but they appear to be lost in the shuffle. You're probably best off just using the base map from ATR anyway.

Ok I think I have got it thanks for your help.

Well when I say got it I managed to edit the map on my PC but I then had to email the map to my Mac to get it onto the Cobb AP but hey it worked. Time to test the new redline.

Any other recommendations for editing/tuning. I am talking basic stuff for for now. My car is a Daily driver that I autocross about 15-20 time per year.

it's also fairly trivial to adjust your fan on/off point... maybe lower your cold engine rev limit too or scale the entire OMP load based table to push a little more oil in under load

You can find all the old maps here
http://www.accessecu.com/accessport/mazda/RX-8Maps.html
Or you use to be able too, the link seems broken.

I posted in the cobb forum asking wtf happened to them awhile back.

I am really impressed with my fuel economy so far. I think it has increased by about 15% a lot to do with the driving style because you can see what your average is every time you get on it. I definitely gained a couple of MPG on the highway.
Engine feels a little smoother too, and according to the Cobb dyno I gained about 8whp which is really cool.

Why did you increase the rev limit? All that does is cause temps to skyrocket and you get no more power from doing so.

Its for Autocross where I race in Ft Myers we have a huge airfield venue and 50% of the tracks require 3rd gear. often I will hold the revs by lifting to stay in 2nd. But the extra 5-6 mph gained with the raised rev limit will hopefully help shave a few tenths off my time.

I realize there are draw backs to increasing the rev limit and it put more stress on the engine, but I am only going to go there maybe 6 days a year so hopefully it will be fine.

Just read thru cobb's notes on the stage1 map. They seem to mention A LOT no need to replace the air intake, don't replace the air intake, replacing the air intake with this map can cause engine damage, and so on...

Replacing the air intake was the first thing I did to the car once I bought it LOL.

Any input with regards to engine damage with mazda maniacs custom maps? I know he will design the map specifically for your mods, so should we assume having the after market intake is safe?

I have the AEM intake by the way..

That is if you are using Cobb's OTS map. The custom map should be fine.
