Nothing. Once I test drove it I refused to drive anything else. I probably would have just kept my old car.

Building a '23 T Bucket roadster with a Camden supercharger was the next project on my list. It still is but it would have been my next notable car.

No, I'm talking about new cars. If you didn't buy the RX8 (for example if they didn't make the 8) what other car would you have bought? I looked at the 350Z and the Mustang Cobra just because I liked the power and speed they both offered. However, I didn't test drive any of the cars. I just did a count of the number of mustangs and 350Z's on the road in my normal commute back and forth from work and I saw a LOT of mustangs and 350Z's. I didn't see any RX8's. That plus the overall design and looks of the car really made up my mind on the 8. Having 4 doors really helps since I have a child and that made it alot easier to get in and out of the back seat. I also fell in love with the yellow when I looked at it online. I bought my 8 without test driving it.
To get back on track, I think I would have ended up buying the Mustang though, just because it had a back seat and alot of horsepower.

Okay, if they did not make an 8 I would want a Crossfire.

how about the Lotus Elise? that's a pretty sharp ride, especially in yellow.

I looked at the Mustang GT, but hated the way it drove. If the RX8 didn't exist, I wouldn't have bought a new car. I had certain requirements for a new car and there wasn't one out there within my price range that I liked.

Well, maybe the MR2 Spyder. But I really wanted a backseat. My mom has that car and there's barely enough room for groceries.

I think Jenkins has a thread somewhere and he's just post-whoring (thanks for the phrase MR. ED) on it, because no one has that much to say!!! Must be his wife typing, you know how women like to babble on and on.
