Hi Keith! Man you are modding over here too? Damn you stay busy. It is kinda ironic that I was trying to get an 8 and make the drive to Sevenstock in '03.
I read back over when we were planning on riding out together to remember the details a little better.
Nothing seemed to be going right around then. At least now if you ever want to co-pilot anywhere again we have the ride! Oh wait but now they shutdown Sevenstock! How about the one in Indy? Are you planning on making that? April 22-24. I can put in for vacation time

Oh, is there enough "lounge-type" chatter over here to justify a Lounge sub-thread here? I know we wear that thing out on the 7 South forum

 

I think we have enough members that are just in the ftw area to justify this as being a sub- lounge. I don't really like going to the lounge or any other areas. I usually just hang out here in the gulf area because here, i've at least met some of the members in person. that makes it a little more fun for me.

 

Agree. I look and post in everywhere but the lounge. Abbid is always posting sad news stories or talking about stuff that's just stupid.

What Keith did for us in the South Forum at the RX7Club is put a lounge within that thread for the locals just for the reason you mention. We have so much activity there and so many of us are good friends that we were basically lounging there.
We didn't like the main lounge either because it was basically about 20-40 people that were pretty tight knit and it just didn't work to start threads there that didn't fit the rules on the South forum.
Basically we always make plans to have parties and get drunk and then talk about what we did later. Keith can attest to the fact that the DFW 7 crowd are a pretty crazy *** bunch. He handles it very well and I can guaranty that is not an easy place to moderate.

To me it looks like it would fit well here and this has all the appearances of a very similar situation to me. It's a smaller but growing crowd.

 

that would be cool if something like that could be set up. then i wouldn't have to hijack all the other "real" threads.

 

To be honest, I am very glad that I bought and RX8. This is a great bonus. I feel that I really click with those that I've met. I don't think that I would have gotten along with people in a Mustang club or a Corvette club as I have with the RX8 club. Thanks. (okay, that's about enough of this being nice ... I think that was my quota of niceness for about a couple of days).

 

I think that's the purpose of this thread. Mr ED even stated something like that when he started this thread. Good grief, have you looked at the monster that "ft.worth meeting" has become. It was basically our lounge for a while, but I guess us lizards can come here and bask on this rock for a while. i wonder how large this one will get?

 

A forum is different because different rules that apply to the threads. That was why Keith (DrKilljoy) talked about the thread not being RX8 related and being one that should be in the lounge.
The problem for the mods is that things get out of hand quick on forums. But if they make a sub-thread lounge then we can be within the rules (talking non-RX8 specific stuff) and be keeping it local at the same time.

i went to check on my car today after i got off work...and all that is needed is one vinyl piece for the inside of the door and then he is going to wash and detail the whole thing for me!!! should have it by tomorrow night if i'm lucky!!!
