This may be a little late, but:

A person who is hired to provide services to a company on a regular basis in exchange for compensation and who does not provide these services as part of an independent business.

J/K. I hate having to work with people like that. That is the main reason I changed Jobs last year.

And I'm reading/writing/researching - AKA boring.

OK, like a typical female, I've changed my mind once again.

I don't plan on moving to California after all. I do need a change in my life though so I'm making a career move.......... drumroll please.......... I'm talking to the lead of IT security today, informing her that I'm interested in moving into her area. She's already told me that she would LOVE to have me, but I've been hesitant. I'm confident now and I'm ready for the challenges that the new job (hopefully) will raise. And I also know that the future is in IT and if I want to get anywhere (while making money), I need to switch.

Congratulations. I hope it goes well. I did that type of job for about 4 months...it can be stressfull, but fun at the same time. Nothing beats seeing everyone's dirty laundry that they seem to use corporate email for. :P

^ Yeah I loved that! I almost got one guy fired once for having so much **** on his computer at work. And once I caught a ocuple of doctors who had a nasty nasty **** problem. Every time we'd make it so they couldn't bring more in they would find another way. One couldn't bring pictures anymore so he started bringing stories in .txt's.

Lol, not that kind. It'll still be on the program side, so setting up LANs and running the different classified WANs and such. Connectivity and hardware/software allowances and restrictions in the different environments.

We have a dedicated computer forensic team that handles the ****. No-tolerance here.

I did a little of everything, psssh I even worked on peoples websites when I was doing IT!

You just can't help but stumble across stuff.

IT is really cool to do. And it does pay fairly well. But you can never learn it all. Every day new stuff comes out and its a constant learning process. I went from knowing only basic deskotp support to building domains and configuring servers, and firewalls all in about a year. Somewhere in there I learned web programming ( a little php, mysql, xhtml, css, html ). It's amazing the broad range of things you have to know.

I worked for an outsource IT company so we kept track of 30 to 40 different businesses.
<-Not easy
