Did you add anything to the paint? Those pearl stripes or ghost flames or whatever you were thinking?

nope, would have cost way to much money, would have delayed the car even more, just too many negatives and I have to much other stuff to pay for (wheels, bills, prescriptions...blah blah blah) I'll be stoked to get it back completely repainted, shiny new grill mesh, new sidemarkers, everything one color and not flawed etc etc, it's like getting a new car almost lol

Lol, it's almost there

I have to work today, it's my monday. I also have to go supply shopping at wal-mart before I go to work so I can make sure my new guys on my team have pens and bullshit. Sigh. Suddenly I feel like a teacher.

I wish we got nap time. Thankfully I live close enough to work to where I could probably come home and nap for 40 minutes on my lunch break.

aww dang, I work north and live souf, I could go home, pet my doggie for 2 minutes, then have to come straight back.......I miss my apartment being right across the street (literally) from work, but I don't miss the psycho ex-wife and rent I used to have to pay so I'll take the commute over that It is a bit slow in here, oh well, tomorrow's Friday and tonight I have a fresh copy of Forza 2 I picked up during lunch to play on my 360...weeeee! (got the last copy they had too, and paid for it with a gift card from work so it was basically freeeeeeee)

I have a feeling that once I get promoted, nap time and "sleep" time will be thrown completely out the window. It's already starting..

Karting Story...

So...we got to the kart track and see all these kids sportin thier 10k-15k karts getting ready for some hot-lapping...

Eventually our group finally trickles in...we get on track with 11 people...plus a few other people not from our group who simply trickled in...those poor bastards...

Most of the group is composed of guys who track...used to track...or have karted alot previously...so needless to say these guys have decent experience tearing up a track...add in the fact that we are taking rentals and doing wheel to wheel racing...you can be as hyper-aggressive as you want to be and not really worry too much about damaging your car...

Smack talk starts about 10 minutes before we hit the grid...threats of car-nage and putting people into the wall...

Grid goes hot and they release onto the track...now normally you stop at a red light and wait for your green before entering...but all these riled up track addicts were gonna have none of that...so you had 16 karts in a mad rush to enter and fight thier way into the lead...WARM UP LAP BE DAMNED...

The poor bastards not in our group from earlier just got swept along in order to not get run over...by the 7th turn an 8 car pile up happened...

See the thing is...these cars lack torque...we complain about the RX...but these literally have nothing...its all about carrying your speed around corners...also the brakes suck utter sweaty donkey kong sized *****...next to useless...and if you do touch them you guarantee a right handed spin out every time....EVERY TIME...

You come around a corner and see a tangled mess of limbs, metal, helmets...and you have those few seconds to ponder what is about to happen...to reflect on the nice day youve been having...to remember that you forgot to put salsa on that taco from earlier, but it was still good and you should probably go afterwards to get some more...

A few seconds later you go slamming into the pile...look around...make eye contact with the guy you managed to T-Bone...and grin that goofy..."Man that coulda been worse" grin...only to look back and make eye contact with another pilot of a metal sled on a collision course for your kart...

Ahh...the fractions of a second feel like an eternity...wonder if its going to hurt...again...think to yourself..."If I hurl up that taco, its going to cloud up the visor in this helmet...why didnt I bring my helment...I wonder if they clean out these rental helmets..."

WHAM...the inbound missle connects with the front drivers side tire and forces the steering wheel to the left...in the process the inner spoke forces my thumb to move into a direction its not supposed to move...and you realize that in a few more miliseconds your brain is about to be complaining about a whole lotta pain...

OWWW...my thumb...you bastard!! However the jolt knocks you free of the wreckage and the first thing you think about is flooring the little bastard and givin her all its worth to clear the corner and get out in front...

Unfortunately others have the same idea and are already ahead of you...

At the end of the session...the owners come out and they split up the run groups...the suicidal maniacs (US)...and the others who got caught in one of the worst races in the history of rental karting (aka: Those poor bastards)...

Total damage...two karts taken out of commission...one transponder ripped off and lost somewhere on the track...one possibly fractured thumb (me), one confirmed broken hand of another driver (thumb for sure)...and definately lots of therapy sessions for the poor bastards...

Sadly enough...the guy with the broken hand went out...and still managed to kick everyones ***...

Hardcore addicts...you better believe it...good time was had by all...

Hehe ... since when do I drift (other than to scare the passengers in my car)?

Do they have an option to add spikes to the car a la Mad Max? I want that.

Nap time?! I just finished taking one. Twink, your kart story sounds like my last relationship. I won't get Forza 2 until August, starting to take summer classes so I need to say focused. Oh yeah my service manuals came in today so this weekend going to spend time under the hood Voted for you MD!
