I tried to deflood an auto 8 for like 8 hours straight...

It turned out it was an apex seal!

At least he let me use his garage for my RB endlink install, drilling through sway bars is allot easier with an air drill.

wow ahah.

I did some searching last night and came to conclusion that my cat is clogged cause it wont rev above 6k.

However im not too worried about that right now.
Just had car towed to tranny shop to get diagnosed.

Most likely going to just have it fixed in town for quicker turn around time.

then will replace the cat with a universal magna flow cat and hopefully be cruising problem free

You had better worry if it is a clogged cat because it can ruin your engine.

So who knows of a good shop in town, blew my engine out last week so I'm going to need at least a rebuild if not a new engine in itself.

Are you under warranty? If so, go to Northpark. They have done two replacements for me and I never really had any problems.

I should be I'm just over 65k but it would be a waste of time seeings how I've done most of my own oil changes and I've heard from a few people that Mazda has been getting on it with the paperwork.

Yea I usually think a couple hours is worth more than a possible few thousand dollars as well.

Thought about that too, want to look into the possibilities of getting the 6-port engine instead of the 4-port and/or some street porting. If the figures aren’t too crazy high then I’ll probably head in that direction.

If you need receipts there are ways top get them........... the warranty paperwork only states you need maintenance records. On my first replacement they did not ask for any receipts, on the second they did. Don't assume.

To do a 6 port auto swap you would need the 6 speed auto tranny and some other stuff as well. It's not worth it when you can get a low mileage 6 speed for so cheap now days.

If you are a noob, you shouldn't take offense to being called a noob.

My suggestion is to keep questions confined to this thread as you will get the answer and have fewer people troll you. People don't like repeating the same threads over and over.

Are you talking to Shady? if you are. You should probably know who you are talking too before you start calling people out you don't know broham. Yes we were all Noobs at one point but we didn't start by asking dipshit questions that have been asked and answered a million times before. Take the advice given and move on.

lmao at that one, but that pretty much answers the whole 6-port thing still think I'm going to see how much it would for the rebuild, seals, porting, blahblahblah. For now it's time to get back to work before someone notices there's a hub leaking over the bay.

That probably wont work out too well... at least not for long. The heat of a rotary will likely melt most universal cats. I don't know off hand what temperature it needs to handle, but it's pretty high. If you search around there should be more info on what might work. If not, there's always the option of a midpipe, though that might cost a bit more.

As mentioned, that wont be cheap. On top of the engine, you'd at least need the transmission and a new ECU. You'd also need anything necessary to add the second oil cooler.

Chill.

If you're experienced with forums, you should know that you shouldn't take stuff on the internet too seriously. Honestly, you had a rough start. It may be different on the other forums you've been to, but it's pretty normal for there to be a less than warm welcome when someone new asks fairly common or basic questions and there is already a lot of information or discussions on the topic. Like it or not, that's how this forum has been for quite a long time and it's not going to change anytime soon.

As a warning: You will get a lot of **** for having an auto, especially the 4 port. It used to be even worse, so you could consider yourself lucky in that regard. Like I mentioned, you had a bit of a rough start. Be ready to catch a bit of **** for that too. The more you get worked up about it, the worse it will be. It'll blow over pretty quickly if just play it cool and deal with it. Think of it as an "initiation" of sorts. If you have an attitude, you'll just get more responses like the ones you've run into so far.

The best purpose for forums like this is to have a wealth of knowledge available to those interested or in need. If the whole purpose of it was to just keep a forum alive or to constantly revisit the same old questions, we wouldn't keep all of these threads around... we would delete them so we could continuously talk about the same ****, every single day.

We're just saying suck it up and deal with it. I'll assume you're tough enough to handle a couple internet insults without getting too hurt over it. I wouldn't say it's about being part of the "cool club", but you have to know that you wont get much help if you can't get along with the people able to help you.

I feel like my last post let you off a bit too easy, so...

You've been on a vehicle based forum and didn't think there was a single thread that discussed oil in a useful manner? I've been on quite a few automotive forums and I've noticed that they all have a thread about oil pop up about once a week. They always end up the same and each new thread is even more useless than the last. If you're an experienced forum user, you should have been aware of that.
