Shortly after that video I had found my noob problem... and fixed it... I was glad it only took about an hour to figure out.

with new rotors, especially new rear rotors, go back and retighten the bolts because the lugs are the only thing besides the caliper that holds the rotor on...

Okay so I want a new exhaust... but I dont want something anyone normally has. Something a little less popular that has a great sound but nothing too excessive or loud.

If it ain't broke.... don't fix it! I think a big part of why you have so many issues is precisely because YOU are modding your car.

Any suggestions on inspection shops that turn a blind eye to CEL's? Trying to decide if I want to go the spacer route or not.

How can an exhaust cause me a problem? Ive had the same exhaust since I got my car. You need to realize I have a 05 rx8. Its not the newest model and is in good condition for being ~6-7 years. Some things are expected to break.

Adding new rotors and pads is not MODDING when you need to do it because your rotors and pads are starting to get low, its called regular maintenance/ normal wear and tear. Its like tires or an oil change.

The reason I have some problems from here to there is because 1) Im a car person and we point out even the smallest of problems. (door handles and side mirrors rattle with certain music, sunroof rattles when opening, right side fog light housing is leaking and allowing condensation to build up etc.) 2) Normal wear and tear (rotors, pads, and transmission). My car is a 2005 model, and im in college. I couldn't afford to buy another 8 like you or Steve with a warranty. I fix my car by myself because my warranty is expired and to save money. And finally 3) because most times than not when installing a part on my car im doing it for the first time by myself and problems are expected to happen. I am no pro nor car mechanic but I learn from my mistakes. and usually post up the fix to the problems when I figure out what they are.

Change your exhaust and you will find out Eevery time you change something you find out something new etc thats broken, and needs replacement, or the new piece you bought gives you problems (due to installation).

Murphy likes your car, that's all I'm saying.

Note: I didn't comment on any thing else other than you wanting a new exhaust, which last time I checked you didn't want for maintenance reasons... so everything else you said is kinda irrelevant.

First, warranties don't cover wear and tear parts like pads or rotors (I replaced the pads and the struts on my old one myself as well).
Second, I'm not sure how much you've spent on your car so far, but given things like a CF hood, and everything else you've done to it, and considering my new car only cost me a difference of roughly 12k (and then only because the old one was in such bad condition) I really doubt that your argument about being poor, or not being able to afford the payments on a new one really hold much water. Not that I care either way mind you, but I like pointing out when I think people are wrong.

it IS modding when you can get factory spec replacement rotors for 1/4 of the price you paid for your slotted ones. also, i'll bet my life your rotors were no where near worn out enough to warrant replacement. i got four raybestos ceramic pads for $60. thats half what you paid for your front hawk pads. pretty sure that qualifies as modding.

and bobby...f*ck yeah!

I just put the exoticspeed with the BHR pipe on Hoss-05's car. It's ok, I wasn't impressed so much. But with the resonator in the straight section removed it will sound better I think. It still doesn't sound as good as the Borla, RB, or Magnaflow IMO.

It does have a great sound, its just kinda heavy :/

What exhaust do you have again?

Installation? Thomas have you ever installed an exhaust? its pretty straight forward, and tard proof. I would be more worried about you installing it than me. This was the first time I have done brakes and rotors by myself, I think I did a pretty good job, a small noobnesss is expected...

Am I allowed to want a new exhaust to mod?

No I wouldnt say 1/4, unless you want some crappy blanks. I paid a little more for them but I feel its worth it along with the curved vanes to help cool and the fact that Racing Brake makes a quality product.

And im sure those Raybestos ceramic pads wouldn't stand a chance at holding up for Track/Auto-X heat...

Thats what I was thinking...

Hmm... well I was confused at which one to go for... I want a full 3" back and I heard the exhaust Hoss has or something like that because of the resonator it goes to a 2" somewhere?

I mean dont get me wrong, I like the Racing Beat Rev8 exhaust its just a little heavy, and I would like something that is a little lighter but sounds good as well... .

Its a little more $ but I was thinking about the HKS Legamax, ideas>?

Yeah the Exoticspeed is 3" but has a resonator (not in the pics when you buy it) on the straight section that reduces it to about 2.25". It's really kind of dumb. On a NA car it likely won't make a difference but he will be removing it before the Supercharger is installed.

Yeah this instantly made me not want the exhaust.

Sadly so far im leaning towards the HKS Legamax once I get enough $.

So far though on the list of exhausts:
HKS Legamax
Greddy Spectrum Elite
*Agency Power

Lol I wanted to get something no one has but I don't feel like spending $1800 on an R-Magic exhaust.

If you are concerned about weight get a hi-power and 3 resonators.

Bang you are welcome.

Side note: If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Second side note: If you are broke don't fix it

Third side note: If you are broke but want to be a ricer go to Ebay.
