Those Greddy kits do suck. I was thinking more like Mazsport turbo kits.

Yup, still around. Had some rough luck last week. I was trying to get ready to go on vacation, and (3) of my coils totally melted down. So, this is a watch out to those of you with the HKS Ignition Amplifiers(skwidd)....I did all kinds of grounding on the coils, installed an aluminum balancer bridge between the coils, plus upgraded to the latest design (brand new coils) and they still literally melted. (Where the 3 wires plug in). I was stranded down on Causway. Pulled out my handy dandy Keychain screwdriver, disassembled my car (in a parking lot), removed the HKS system, then swapped coils until I got the two best ones on the leading plugs. This gave me enough power to get home, where I had a fresh set of coils waiting. Worked into the night, along with packing my bags. Runs perfect again. I just ordered some Plazma coils...hopefully these will kick butt.

Later all.

Screens are made by Racing Beat, they are offered individually or as a set, the set is the beast deal, i think it was around $100.00

AC Screen and Oil Coolers

I did make both the Oil Cooler Screens and the AC condenser screen. The Oil Coolers, I made out of some expanded aluminum Gutter Guard and some rubber tubing. For the AC screen I bought a sheet of expanded grill metal, shaped it and bent a 1-2" 90 at the bottom. I then unscrewed the bottom of my spoiler and slid the tab into the space between the bottom of the bumper cover and the spoiler. I bolted it back up and it is trapped very nicely between the two. The oil covers already have a big dent in on of them, so they are definitely worth the $6.

I decided the HKS did nothing. Now I know it melts coils. hehe

I'm trying to sell mine, but the guy from Aussieland hasn't gotten back in touch with me.

Sorry your work is hazardous to your car.

I have the AP pulley and I must say it might be all in the head but from the butt dyno it feels like it made my car a little faster. I drove my friends stock vs my modded 8 and my 8 feels much faster than his.

The AC still blows as cold as it could and I am pushing a 10" JLW6. Still no problems.

Had a little fun around 10PM last night on the way home from the office. Another BB was driving up Poydras and got on the interstate. I was amazed. The chick hung with me through that S turn onto the interstate (really wasn't pushing it...70mph), and then kept up from there to West End.

Plasma Direct Coils

Sorry your work is hazardous to your car.
In my search for a REAL ignition for our 8's I shelled out the dough for the set of OKData Plasma Direct Coils. Much to my disappointment, they came in. They consist of (4) stock coils that have the bottoms sheared off, and an amplifier epoxied to the bottom.

Given the weak nature of the stock coil, I can't say as I have much faith in these.

Given the sensitivity of my Butt Dyno, they really don't perform any better than the HKS system. They also mess up the idle. I think they lean out the idle too much, because they have a multi-spark that's more intense at low RPMs. The car almost dies when you let off the gas, then recovers to a regular idle.

Anyways, I think they're going back. I'm still sending in my HKS system on warantee.

Later!!!

If it melted the coils, why are you keeping it?

Very Stealth! How does it sound? I been wanting to do the whole stealth box thing cause the box I have for my W6 takes too much space.

it actualy sounds great. doesn't blast your ear drums out and at the same time doesn't overpower the highs. Mind you that i'm pushing 200 watts at 4 ohms per side on a dual coil 4 ohm sub. So only 400watts right now and it sounds beutiful. It won't rattle the car next to u but i didn't design it to do that. The box is amazing nice tho, i got mine from a forum member i found on a search but if u hit me up one weekend, i'vve been wanting to see if i can copy it or make my own. I'm very handy with fiberglass.
