Carbon Fiber Console

Ya know those slightly out of place silver rails along your console? Well, I couldn't take it anymore. I'm too cheap to shell out $400 for the Mazda Factor CF console so I got some textured CF film. Cleaned everthing with alchohol, stuck it on, smoothed it out. I used a hobby iron from my R/C airplanes to seal the edges. It came out pretty nice. I'm not sure about durability yet, but worsth case, I peel it off and have the silver back.

Next, what to do about the back of the seat????

Love how it looks!! You rim has 100% no break dust from what I can see.

Wow, the HKS ig is that much better? I guess I need to consider this also.

Your gonna love the clear corners. Now you have to upgrade to LED's.

There is one other guys, he lives out in Lee Road. Hes got black rims, intake, and a lowering kit. i forget his name, but its a blue 05.

Theres also a few others....my best friend drives a 04 Lightning Yellow one, and i met a guy in slidell the other day with a ricer kit on a grey one.

I planned on MM tonight. That was before it got cold and uhh sleeted!

Bill- Great job on your brakes. They look sweeet! Let me know how the paint hols up. And the HKS ignition really makes a diff huh?

John- You get those clear corners installed today? That's gonna look good on your BB!

I'll have my new wheels mounted & installed at Twin Tire on Monday! I picked up the tires from Twin Tire on yesterday & brought them to Southern Tire to be siped. Man that new rubber smells so good. The rear are pretty wide. Roger I may need you to help me roll those fenders after all ~shrug~.

Happy Easter guys!

How bad is it rubbing? With people in the backseats? Going up a driveway? Hard cornering?

Saw a green 8 at the Crescent City Classic this morning. He told me that it was his wifes car and he didn't see many around. So I told him to log on to this site and join the group. I took a pic with my camera phone but it might be a crapy pic.(hung over from yesterdays crawfish boil lol)Anyway...I told him about the bbq and all of the knowledge that everybody has.He told me that he wanted to know more about the 8, 'cause he had some trouble with his a/c and the dealership couldn't figure it out. But some guy with a yellow 8 by the name of Mike gave him some great info and found the problem. small world

what grounding kit did you buy? My headlights do some crazy crap when I stop at a red light and the car's idles. Its like having the bass cranked up on a radio and the lights pulsate to the music. I think a grounding kit would help.

i did my own grounding kit...really easy. just goto a sound shop and buy about 8-9 ft of 4 guage amp wire and some connectors *and the optional little black covers* and btw u will prolly need a hammer *if u get the solid gold connectors like i did* to crimp them down.

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2476335
check my car domain ^ if u wanna see pics.

John your CC's do look awesome!

K guys & gal, my new wheels are ON! I love them, I think they look ssssick! Even better than I expected. They fit great, too. No prob at all (so far) with the 265's on 9.5 in the rear; even in 19's and with my drop! They look pretty "beefy" from the back. I am really excited about these. Here are some pics. I took these right when I rolled up at home from having them mounted. I just had to snap some. I plan on taking better pix when the car & wheels are clean of course. Mike- how'd they look rolling?

Thanks Tony! And look at it this way, I'm up by like what? 2+ years, so there ya go.

Yo H8ED- they're not chrome, well not the wheels, the ball maybe ;-) And why you H8N on my hitch, huh?! You better get outta here! Naah- I know it isn't "attractive" but once I remove the ball, you can't really see the hitch. It works, well at that and comes in handy. Esp on race days, toting race rubber & race gear! So nuh :-)~

Thanks Roger. No need to help me roll the fenders, but how 'bout that one, two, ten? lol.

H8D- I've been there, done that too. Friends help AND I've actually hauled all four tires in the 8, carefully! Ice chest w/beer on the rear psgr floorboard, etc. Had it all worked out. But tight fit once you added a helmet, jack, race shoes, etc. Having the trailer rocks! It fits a wheel stack, tool box filled with the necessities, large ice chest, chairs yada yada yada. Sep well I only had it for like 2 races before Katrina struck and I haven't raced since!
