I got mine from Pretti. Only because they had the only 6mt sport in the state. I liked the the sales staff and the finance people, but I've heard bad things about the service department. Find the one you want and buy it. Have it serviced wherever you want.

I saw evolvnola added me to the list, so I thought I'd stop by and say a quick introduction.

Phil Rabalais from Slidell. I'm a graduating senior at SLU and work at New Orleans Lakefront Airiport. I'm also a veteran. My car is a 96 Miata once raced in STS2 when I was autocrossing, so it's a pretty mild engine but tons of suspension work(lowered, everything adjustable, spent months getting it set up.) I was initially concerned I'd be a little out of place in a crowd of RX8's, but I'll be coming along.

Where is everyone from the northshore planning to meet so I can convoy in?
What do ya'll need me to bring for the BBQ?
Should I plan on parking in a crowd with ya'll or put my car around back where nobody will see it? It ain't pretty, it's a track ****.

you should fit right in. we are pretty easy going and have all types. last yr we tried to keep car types together but everyone had a place to park in our group. as far as what to bring just pick something and add it to the list

 

Unless you need something else, I'll plan on soft drinks and plastic cups. Packing a cooler and ice will be a PITA in my car(have you seen the size of a first gen Miata's trunk?) but I'll figure it out.

Soft drinks sound good? I figure adult beverages wouldn't mix well with a public gathering of cars(not to mention it'd only take one underage moron to send me to jail). Any advice on how many people to plan for?

 

from what we had last yr i would say 50+ lol. if you got a family bring them. we are very kid friendly. as far as a meet up time i am going to go with 9am at the winn dixie by the causeway in mandeville http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...=UTF8&t=h&z=18

Sorry no trailer this year. My BBQ Pit fell apart this year after a long tailgaiting season. We will try to make it out there for the event.

 

I have a small BBQ pit. I might bring it. 8 has been acting weird lately. I need to get in touch with Bill and see what he is doing.

Man, if my 8 was running right, I'd wake up early and head to the coast to ride in with the coast guys. That's always a nice ride.

Luis did a good job organizing last year, so hopefully he takes the reigns again. Do we have a staging point yet? Sorry if I haven't taken the time to read all of the posts above.

 

im trying to bring the greatness again this yr lol. there is a running list skwidd it has what people are bringing and what not. as far as staging points, the 7 guys are coming from bolixi so get with them if they cross your path. im having a meeting point on the north side of the causeway. and I know a few people that are comming from the br area and might take 55 down im sure tony can set something up for that. un less everyone wants to meet up with me. i would like everyone to be there this yr around 10 so parking will not be an issue. i invited a bunch of my neighbors to come down so feel free to bring anyone. just let us know so we can have enough food and drinks for all.
like always extra parts you want to sell, toys (adult or kid), and anyone you want to bring are encouraged

If I had the time to run up there, I would check it out. Is it GT or sport? I am going with a GT since Mazda no longer offers the touring package on the sport.

Wow...there aren't a lot of MT GTs within 150 miles of NOLA according to MazdaUSA.com. I wanted to drive a GT to see how it feels.

 

When I was looking for mine, it was the only MT base in the state. There arenot alot out there, as they are not selling well at all.

 

Poor gas mileage and high gas prices is probably hurting 8 sales. There just really aren't a lot of good choices. I don't like the mustangs or the challengers. The Camaros are starting to grow on me, but the back seat isn't all that accessible. I was searching the web last night and there is a rumor that a 2011 model 7 will be out, but that's just web rumor.
