Impromtu Run 7/5/09
Ok, so a certain noob has been hounding me to post this.
Sunday, impromtu run.... maybe just to one of the lakes or something. Before I start mapping something out how about we get a feel for who wants to go?

I'm not a NOOB. Noob. And I didn't hound you. I simply said that you know the areas/routes better than I, and maybe you should pose the question. I also said that I could do it.
But yes. I would like to go since I probably won't get to go on any other runs with ya'll before I leave for DC. I'll be at the meet on Friday, but after this weekend, my schedule is going to get quite chaotic with the move. It'd be really nice to go on a run with ya'll.

im gonna try and make it out friday to biffs, if i do show up ill most likely be with my daughter....the 5th is if'y for me, but i might be able to make it...

what time is everyone showing up at biffs, and how old is your daughter? i never go to evening meets cuz i always have my bambina, but if another is bringing theirs i am more inclined to show up!!

well glad to hear the 11th cruise is still on, i was looking forward to that one

Sunday... meet at the Gold's Gym on Bandera and 1604 (outside the loop) at 930/1000 we will be departing the parking alot around 1015/1030 the latest and venture out into the day. The run should last about 4-5 hours, ending back at Bandera and 1604.
I would suggest bringing a small cooler with beverages and perhaps some sandwich making materials ... hehehehehe.
The plan is to hit Medina lake and parts of 16, the route has not been drawn up as of yet but will be by Sunday.

Here is a preliminary map, we will drive through bandera, stopping to pick up food and snacks then heading to a picnic area on the west side of the lake. After eating and bsing we will then go around the lake to the Dam road ( and no its not a gawd dam) for a photo op. After that we will head home Through Culebra and 1560? In all should be about 3 1/2 hours of driving and approx total of 5 hours depending on lengths of stops. When complete, we can opt for dinner at the many restaurants located around Bandera/1604

so, how many people are going so far? i don't have anything else to do so, i might go. the only problem is, i don't really like driving my car more than an hour drive. perhaps, we could go the the park, instead? has anyone been to Mccalister park? i've never been there, though. it's around north star mall.

Well that was... um interesting. Found some nice little twisties, a lot of bumpies, and also that they have privatized most of the roads around the lake.... all in all it was fun.

Eah im not even on mile # 1000 for my third engine so I didn't want to push it anyway. Is there any more VR's that are often near the USAA area you guys Know of other then 9K?

Sorry Guys I really should not talk smack about IPAC...... sometimes what gos around comes around..... And the Maintenance rep is really cool we have a ton in common. He took my phone calls at way in appropriate times and was very understanding.
