I'd definitely go this route, or try Boost Logic, BL may primarily be a Supra shop and all, but they do know their stuff and would probably help you. I'd trust them or John fo sho, John helped me with my brakes a while back when no other shop in town would give me the time of day. I know too many people who have had issue with ptp and mzm, either with shoddy work, and/or shady business practices. just my opinion though, if adam has had good luck maybe things have changed?

i am on the wall with ptp, jon is a great guy helped me find fittings for the original greddy turbo, i had the car repainted there did a amazing job on color matching but ive found a pretty big paint defect on the rear(didnt realize they repainted the entire side of the car) .
maybe they will fix it dont know haven't had time to go back may have been to long

whatever works I guess, I just know we've had a lot of complaints on here and from TexasRxs members about how they do things so buyer beware and all that. Me personally, I'd be going with boost logic or traveling to wherever Steve Khan is, I mean, if you're going through all the time and expense you might as well go ***** out right?

which shop is john at the round rock or the georgetown shop ?
edit: hmm seems they dont want to work on it,
"Mr. Little, my name is Jonathan and I work at Automotive Specialist. About your cast iron manifold, cas iron cannot be welded by any standard means; mig, tig, braze, stick, etc.
It can be welded but the manifold has to be heated in an oven almost back to liquid state, then welded, and then reheated, this process is usually more expensive than a new manifold."
actually i think it can be brazed >_> but not sure how well that would stand to the temp it would go though

In order to braze it, you have to heat the case iron to a very high temperature at the localized area where the crack is. It can cause the manifold to crack worse or warp. In order to do it, you have to heat the entire manifold and allow the metal to do its natural cubic exapansion without restriction, and then do the repair while it's hot.
But I just learned about this, so, I'm no pro... maybe somebody else knows, but I figure if that manifold has to support that much weight, it's got to be done right.

I can acturaly tell you, my friends manifold I used when we found the crack on mine was properly welded but managed to crack during the install O_O. IT was slowly heated then welded then put in a box of sand to extend the cool down.
I hate this manifold....
also I realy need a exasuht this 100$ obx junk sounds like a civic with a fart can

Well, obviously the car tuning world must be doing incredible cause I have called/emailed 5 tuning shops and 4 of them wont call back/ write back. I want the car to be ready for when my parents come out the first week of October, but its not looking like it will happen. I even tried to bribe MM with money to put me first in line to finish my tune but he never responded. Not sure if he put me in the back of the line or is still working on it. I only need the timing table from him. I finished the rest of the tune. Its been 19 days. Just SO sick of the car not being tuned. 4 months working on it and I still cant drive the god damn thing.

lol, ive attempted to bribe mm to just respond and finish up my turbo. from the last update i didnt think he was far from completion but meh o well.
I think it will be all worth it once i am complete. just not getting a reply back is really frustrating.
last response may:
We got way behind over here for a multitude of reasons, none of which are particularly good ones.
Since acquiring an assistant, things have started moving again, but progress is a bit slow.
Your actual turbo is here and is flanged. Your injectors and installation hardware is here too.
I just need to fabricate your support hardware (wastegate, oil drain, etc.) and get your "soft" parts.
I apologize for the long, long wait. I'll try to keep you better informed as we get closer to shipping.
Thanks for your incredible patience.

Damn man, thats bull **** you havent had any word of anything since May. Did you try PMing Hund?? Thats his assistant. She updated me pretty quick about my AP. I am trying to make my own tune because I dont want it locked, like the one MM sends out. I sent him my logs cause I just want to see what his tune feels like compared to a dyno tune, and plus I really didnt want to spend the money now to get dyno tuned because I dont have all my parts on the car yet. So I was gonna wait till it was complete before I dropped the money and dynod it. But if its gonna take 3 months to get my car tuned by MM, I would rather pay for 2 dynos, one now, one when its finished. I just want to drive my car! I just dont understand how the timing works. Looks like it sees negative timing, and I dont know how that works.

Is that stock?? Its not horrible but it could be a lot better. How long was the car running before you pushed start on the Cobb? You want your STFT to be 0. Basically what those are saying is you have a commanded AFR of 14.6. The STFT is the representation of how much fuel the computer is adding or subtracting to hit that given value. In your case, the computer is adding fuel so your MAF is going to need a little work. Ill help you do it if you want. LTFT is nothing at idle. Those are your cruising trims.

If thats stock then I would say thats ok. If I paid for that tune, Id be pissed!! Lol! The numbers are like that because the car is sold in multiple climates, difference in gas (91 and 93) Its just a very safe and rich tune, I wouldnt be concerned. Wait, you mean base tune as in MM or stock??

next weekend i plan to drive back to dallas to have a friend either have my greddy manifold repaired or have him "attempt" to make me a tubular set up that fits in the greddys spot. have to ask another friend to borrow his turbo up so i can show him that it aint going to be as easy as he thinks

I was hoping to go up to Dallas on Monday and have Brian D. Cain tune my car. We started to have an email conversation about tuning my car and he said he had never worked with Cobb but would be interested in getting some experience with it on my car and would not charge me for a full dyno tune. I asked if I could come up on Monday and he never wrote back. Guess he dont need the money.....
