S'all good dude. I got the actuator in just to run into another problem. I took the turbo off to get that stupid thing on. Now Im having problems getting the compression pipe on. I have no clue how to even get the back screw and nut on. I just look at it and laugh! I have no freaking clue how this is ever going to go on! Maybe interesting.

Just throw a turbo on it and youll be on level ground with the later models. Change it to synthetic oil, change the tranny oil and differential fluid to synthetic, get a fresh turbo tune on it and it should run like a champ! Just make sure you get a manual, they have 6 port engines, autos only have 4 port engines.

Dumb question but whats the difference between 4 port and 6 port? Are the manuals less likely to require a rebuild since the 6 ports allow better aeration of the engine or something? Thanks and forgive my ignorance lol.

6 port= 6 speed
I have an 05 AT and it redlines at 7 and top speed mabye 120
MT much better and can do more with it ?
I'm doing to the switch next year

Anyone got a Cobb AP and wanna slap a tune on my 8 or are this things ECU specific? Would make sense to only be able to use on one ECU per tune for marketing reasons, but would be cool if not every owner had to buy one for each car they may have. Lemme know.

Hey guys I've got another quick question. Do the 04 and 05 RX-8's require multiple engine rebuilds or is it just a one time deal? i.e if i were to buy a used rx-8 with a rebuilt engine might I have to deal with rebuilding the engine or do I not have to worry about it anymore? Thanks so much for yall's help.

Good news and bad news....the car started up great, which I was super relieved about!! I was SO nervous moments before we fired it up. But she fired right up, I was so proud of her! Bad news is I have a GIANT oil leak! Lol! Im not 100% sure where its coming from. Im about 85% its the oil feed line. Problem is, is I dont know what part its leaking from. Is it the line itself leaking, is it just not tight enough, is it a bad fitting inside the turbo. Just not sure!! Hopefully Ill be able to pinpoint it tomorrow. Nik and his brother really helped out a lot today and previous days, thanks alot guys!

Nah, I work the back half of the week nights so I dont touch the car till Im done with work. I have a feeling Im gonna have to take all that **** off to tighten up that line. I got a wrench on it and gave it about 1/8th of a turn but now the nut is at an angle to were the wrench wont grab it. Im bringing some 60 degree angle head wrenches home from work this week to see if maybe I can get one of them on. But I know it wont work so Ill be back to square one by Monday.
