Yes, they are where the DFW Mazdas meets are typically held...I should be there next time, assuming I don't have any other plans.

Welcome, ro-tard!

Check out the first $100 mods, and the "so you bought an 8". They are very useful information.

If you need a rotary mechanic here in Dallas, I strongly recommend the guys at RX7.com. They are in Garland. Very knowledgeable, with all kinds of rotary engines.

Welcome to the forum!

I have stopped scheduling DFW RX-8 meets because the recent turnout has not been great...If we can get a decent group, we should definitely start up weekly meets again...I highly recommend attending either the DFW Mazdas meet, as well as the Ballin on a Budget meet...I just updated the first page, so check it out!

The next meet (Ballin on a Budget) is tonight!

I will start meeting up again once my 8 is out of the shop. Had a little small collision with front bumper 06/12. Been ruff but finally having mazda look at it with to finish the lack of work stupid collision place did.

Attempting to kill 3 birds with one stone. Collision work, diagnostic to fix anything my remaining warranty through bank has, and recall. Once back I'll be sure to attend

Just FYI, I will be attending Cars and Coffee on the 5th, just in case any other 8 owners wanted to park together. My GF has never attended and is interested in looking at some of the exotics. If your interested just post here or PM.

Hi there!

Are you guys/gals still meeting regularly?

I don't have one, so I am wanting to learn more about RX-8's from actual owners :-)

I believe the RX-7 club still meets every month, and they welcome any kind of rotary. It's been a while since I attended because I've been busy but I'm hoping to make the one in April.

Thanks. I used to drive an 1987 RX-7, drove it to over 110K miles, and traded it in. Over the years I have had several other cars, but the RX-8 has always been in my mind, but I am of course worried with the engine longevity (most often due to owners not knowing how to take care of a rotary engine).

I am considering a manual tranny used RX-8, but it would be great to meet and talk to other RX-8 owners.

Definitely get a manual RX8, I just recently bought a RX8 shinka as my Daily.

Favorite car to drive, I honestly enjoy it just as much as my FD. It has such an enjoyable Transmission, and stock has crazy torque lol. Granted I love my twin turbo's on my FD.

I honestly would love to mod up my RX8 soon lol !

Sorry for all the replies, but as well I would recommend that you try to get a Compression test before buying one.

Granted the RX8 I bought has "bad Compression" I was able to get a good bargain from a guy on Craigslist.

Basically if you can get a good deal on one, it would be worth it. Just you'll have to think about getting a Remanufactured Renesis or Re build it.

I'm on that boat currently, but my engine is running pretty well so far. Despite that my Compression is like 60psi.

I'm just riding it until it dies, then I'll cross that bridge of re building it? If not there are some decent used Renesis for like $1,500. You just gotta be **** about the compression, and you should be fine.

Assuming you do all the regular Rotary maintenance you should be good, hope this helps man!

Hey everybody,

As you can tell, I haven't kept up with this thread much lately because not many people from this group (if any) every really show up.

However, I'm going to delete the meets on the first page and just post a link with ALL car meets in DFW...It is updated daily...If you have any questions, PM me...Thanks!

Thanks!
