Way to go. You raced a 158hp 2.4L 4-cylinder Camry.

The reality is for what the car costs, it handles great, brakes great, but thats it.

Really sad that the flagship of Mazda can get smacked around by a family sedan, Civics, RSXs, etc...

This always makes me wonder when these so-called "rx8 driver" shift from 1 to 2. If they shift to 2 at 9 mph then no wonder they let all these Camry junk accelerate ahead and steal the lane space.

If you shift to 2 at 30 mph like you're late to work and mean business, then no Camry has no chance to be ahead, never. Never. I will never allow!

Quiz time!

A stock SE V6 can get from 0-100mph in 14.6 seconds, and a stock RX8 requires 15.9 seconds.

Properly driven, which one will win from a 60mph roll?

Hint: it's not the RX8.

No....that 15.9 must be from a automatic RX-8. That time is god awefully slow for a RX-8, that fastest time I seen was 14.6 profesionally,14.2 somebody on this board done that stock.

Funny I went against a new Se V6 last night on the highway, after 70, there pretty weak, a 99 camary wanted to join in on the fun too, but couldn't hang with either of us.

^^ How did someone on this board measure 0-100 mph time? I think you're thinking of 1/4 mile, which is not what he was saying.

gtech times dont count :p, the fastest time i remember is around 14.6ish by Ito i think, The rx8 is at its best when it does a high rpm clutch drop launch, when that is taken out of the equation its significantly slower due to the low torque.

The new Corolla XRS with the 2.4L engine taken from the Camry has more peak torque than the S2000 or the Rx8...

A COROLLA!!!!

I dont think the rx8 traps 100mph+ in the 1/4 mile so it naturally takes longer
