My list is short:

1- 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 Five-Speed
2- 2004 Mazda RX-8 6-Speed

....needless to say (although I'm saying it), the RX-8 is quite a jump in performance.

I really don't count any cars before my s2000, because once I bought an s2000 and rx-8, all my other cars seem lame as hell.

1994 bought first car, '85 chevy malibu..................sold
1995 bought '84 monte carlo..................................broke down
1997 bought '85 grand am.....................................gave to little sister
1998 bought '85 monte carlo ss..............................broken into 4 times, detroit , sold
2000 leased '00 dodge intrepid...............................turned in
2003 bought '00 s2000...........................................so ld and missed
2004 bought '04 rx-8................................................

I want back my s2000, love the rx-8 too though, better in some ways, worse in others.

1995 Jeep Wrangler TRADED IN (TRANNY BLEW UP)
1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport (TRADED IN FOR RX-8)
2004 Dodge Caravan (Work vehicle, still drive)
2004 Mazda RX-8 (finally someone slapped some sense into me.)

1975 Honda CB550
1975 Kawasaki KZ400
1997 Yamaha Virago 535
1999 Honda Shadow 750
2002 Honda VTX 1800 (woot) Custom Exhaust, Custom Ram-Air, EFI Control. Blow the doors off of any '8(sorry) or about any other car on the street for that matter.

(Since I didn't have any other cars to show off other than the '8, I had to throw in the bikes...lol...sorry, since we were bragging anyway.)

1972 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe
1972 Chevy Vega
1981 Datsun 310gx
1989 Pontiac Grand Prix
1995 Honda Civic VX
2001 Mitsubishi Galant ES
2004 Mazda RX-8!!!!!
Of course there are my wife's rides that I have participated in as well, which were
1986 Escort
1992 Suzuki Sidekick (probably the 2nd most fun vehicle I've ever owned)
1998 Isuzu Trooper LS (Her current ride, and how I'll be getting around in the ice/snow!)

Some notes on the above...
I really loved my Fiat. It was 1985, and although the car was kind of ragged, I was still not willing to drive a VW Bug.
The Vega was a good car. (for a poor college student, it was, honest) Too bad a drunk driver played spy hunter with it and knocked it, with me and my then girlfriend off the road at 60 mph. I only owned this car for a MONTH
The 310gx was also a good College guy car. I only paid a thousand bucks for it, and I drove it for 4 years. When I graduated college, it started falling apart thus I bought...
The Grand Prix. Former Hertz Rental car. Got it cheap. It was a great car and I drove it for 6 years. It had issues starting so I had to sell it.
I bought the Honda Civic because I had a 50 mile each way commute. The car was rated at 56mpg.
The mitsubishi was my "daddy car" I didn't want to be putting a baby seat in the 2 door Civic. It wasn't a bad car, but I had the fever for an "8"... Until I test drove my 8, I thought I'd be driving the Mitsu for at least 6 years...

1985 VW Golf - fun
1992 VW GTI - more fun
1994 Isuzu Rodeo 4WD - fun in the mud
1999 BMW 328i Sport - very fun
2001 BMW 740i Sport - very fun
2004 RX-8 M/T - ultimate fun!

I'd say that the BMW 740i is the perfect combination of power, sportiness and luxury and my favorite car of all-time. The RX-8, while not BMW quality, is a lot more fun to drive than any car I've owned. I debated getting a 2001 BMW M3 but for the money and having the back doors that make it easy to get my infant in and out, the RX-8 beat it hands-down.

I can see myself owning an RX-8 for many years and only to be replaced with a more current model when the time comes

Damn a lot of Rotary owners that had multiple Rx7s, I guess it's like, once you go rotary, you can never go back. It's a love it or hate it relationship but I love mine.

My list is short though

1994 Acura Integra LS Slush box
2003 Acura RSX Type-S 6 spd
2004 Mazda Rx8 GT 6 spd

Beautiful convertible. I love that color. I've always wanted a convertible RX-7. Then again, I've always wanted a million dollors too, oh well........ Seriously though, awesome 7! Looks great.

Yep. Instead of an asthmatic 2.4L NA 4cyl, we get the 2.0L Turbo SR20.
