My Previous Car(S) ...

Starting in 1988 when I bought my first car:

1975 Fiat X 1/9 (First car. Graduated HS. 2 years later left it behind for the USAF)
1970 VW Beetle (First beater in Germany)
1980 VW Polo (Nice car for very basic transportaiton.)
1991 Opel Corsa (Not much too say about this one.)
1992 Ford Fiesta (Even less to say about this one.)
1974 VW Beetle (Another Beetle, but a US spec one bought in Germany.)
1993 Suzuki Sidekick (Our first brand new car! Shared with the wife.)
1970 VW Beetle (My last Beetle ... for now. It was an a clutchless stick. Great car)
1978 Datsun 280Z (My first Z.)
1978 Porsche 924 (Didn't know when I bought it, but it was HOT! Later inspection revealed all VINs had been rubbed off except one!)
1985 Pontiac Fiero GT (Better car than most give it credit for.)
1980 Volvo 240 Wagon (A true SUV. This tank could go anywhere.)
1983 VW Cabriolet (Sure it was a "chick" car, but hey, the top went down )
1998 VW Jetta (My first brand new car. A Jetta !!! Always wanted one.)
1978 Datsun 280Z (Another Z. But still not "the Original" ... a 1970 240Z)
1987 Pontiac Fiero GT Fastback (A very sweet car. The fastback were the ones to have.)
2000 Ford Mustang (Listened to the wife on this one. AT w/6cyl. A secrataries car! Sorry AT owners )
2000 Ford Explorer (Orders to Alaska. Sold Mustang, took wife's Explorer. Some knock 'em, but put 26,000 trouble free miles on it in 1 yr.)
1970 Datsun 240Z (Finally the real deal! The one! The only! "the Original!" My teenaged dream come true.)
2001 Mazda Miata (After realizing I was spending more time fixing the Z than I was driving it, I bought the Miata.)
2004 Mazda RX-8 (Once again giving into the wife. Bought a more practical car. No AT this time ! :D ! :D !

Here is my Capri RS

305hp....100hp nitrous kit.

I loved the car but got sick of replacing rear ends, tires and 5 speeds.

well I started off with a used subaru, parents bought it for me using my money but not my approval. It ended up having a blown head gasket and tons of other problems.
so my next car was an 89 ford festiva brand new with 18 miles on it when I got it. by the time I got rid of it I had fully customized it by lowering it, shaving everything including handles, redoing the ENTIRE inetrior in gray tweed with black carpet, had a monster system with 4 12"s in a box that me and a buddy of mine took a whole month to build. (sculpted tweed, lexan, floating amp rack, the car brought home a lot of trophies in its day despite always being in the wrong class, I even went up against a frame off resto Jaguar xke one time where the owner had a binder about 4 inches thick of all the work he had done) I did as much as I could under the hood but nobody was into 4 bangers back then so I either fabricated my own stuff, or just left it alone. I built the car pre-tuner era so I got a lot of flack from the Rustang guys, and a lot of kudos from other customizers/mini-truckers etc. Sold the car for next to nothing despite 7 years of driving/working on it and got a 97 s10. I tried to fix this up and show it as well, but it just seemed doomed from the start. I got hit about 5 times in it (once by a buddy while it was parked in my driveway). But I ended up shaving my tailgate handle, molding in a rollpan and frenched plate in the back, I had the dreaded altezza lights on it before they became dreaded (heh), 18" Budnik custom offset wheels with Michelin Pilots, disc brakes on all corners, a beefed up tranny, gibson catback, header, intake, jacobs ignition system, jet chip, 2 dual voice coil 12"s in the cab, custom made one off steering wheel to match my wheels. I ended up replacing the ignition and putting it back to stock before finally getting rid of it for the 8. I also had a cowl inducted hood and a GMC Envoy front end swap (complete with real HIDs) I miss all the work I put into it, but I don't miss how slow it was compared to my 8 I'm hoping to go off on something else someday, just not sure how or what yet.

well here are my cars from first to current...

1987 Honda Civic Lx-some sort of growth in the trunk and 2nd and 3rd gear didn't work to well...i loved and missed that car. oh and always make sure your oil drain plug is on tight...oil all over the highway and a seized motor are no good!

1994 Ford Ranger-fun truck for the rest of high school...didn't do to well mudding.

1995 Eagle Talon TSi AWD-this is where the obssession with cars started...never even heard of turbo till i got this, thought it was fast as hell!

1991 Jeep Wrangler-for some reason i decided i wanted a Jeep. should have never gotten rid of the Talon.

1997 Eclipse GS-T-glad i got rid of the Talon casue i never would have found this car. went crazy with the engine mods and put down 387FWHP. fully upgraded the suspension, it may not be an RX-8 but this car could out handle most cars on the road. still my favorite car to date!

2001 Ford Ranger XLT-had some financial problems so the eclipse had to go and i picked up this piece. hated it and tried to sell it a week after i bought it. 3 1/2 years later and 63,000 miles finally got rid of it without being upside down! this was the first new vehicle i ever bought.

edit---while owning the 2001 Ranger i bought my old Talon back and turned it into a project drag car...ex-fiancee made me chose her or the Talon...i should have picked the car...

2004 Mazda RX-8-well i finally made it here. it may not be the eclipse but thats a good thing! have decided to hold on to this car for as long as i can. we were meant for each other!!!

Post An Abarth ?!

  1. 1988 Peugeot 505 Turbo
  2. 1982 Alfa Romeo GTV6
  3. 1978 Lancia
  4. 1967 Alfa Romeo 1750 Spyder
  5. ???? Abarth Allemano 750
  6. ???? Corvair Monza 6 cyl
  7. 1965 MG Midget
  8. ???? Renault Dauphine
And a few other more or less interesting rides, including a battleship gray Rambler American which I really did like. I blew up the Abarth; what a shame; speedy little car at only 850 or so pounds all up. Really liked the Alfa spyder, also. Corvair was crap. Peugeot was outstanding: only 185 hp at 5500, but 225 ft-lb of twist from 2400 all the way up for a good 135 mph and fine handling. The Lancia was something special, with outstandingly relaxing handling, so much so that no matter what "condition" I was in, it always seemed to just know the way home.

She was 18 or 19 though right? Any other aged teenaged dream would be bad news.
