I am not doing the entire list, it is embarrassing.
Last few cars will be telling as to how I got here and complimentary to the RX8.
1987 Mazda RX7 Turbo II - Bone stock
2001 Mustang GT Convertable
2003 Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works
1980 Porsche 911 Targa w/ 1990 3.6 swap
2001 Audi A6 Quattro 2.7T 6 speed
2005 Audi A6 Quattro 3.2 Autotragic
2001 BMW 330i 5 speed
2009 RX8 R3
The RX7 purchase was my consolation Porsche, I wanted a 911 but could not afford it, so I bought that RX7 with 50K miles on it from the 1st owner.
When I got my Mustang I joined Stangnet and was invited to go Autocross with the Stang Guys. I asked if I could bring my RX7 instead, they encouraged me to, that started a slippery slope modding the hell out the 7 to what it is today. It was a force to be reckoned with eventually and a Fastest Time of the day car many times over as well as season points champ a couple seasons in a row.
I sold the Mustang to a friend and purchased the Mini Cooper, I got bored with it fast FWD, super well behaved electric nannies, I tracked it and it was too easy to drive.
Sold the Mini after 2 years and bought the 911, my dream car was finally here. Except there was a problem, I hated the attention it always got and hated the comments it drew from friend and strangers. Comments like you must be dong good etc... I would explain it was a 20+ year old car, no one believed it, it looked new.
The one striking thing about the Porsche 911 is the steering. It is remarkable and I tried like hell to get my RX7 to have the same feel. After 3 years I had to decide on which toy to sell, the RX7 or the 911, the choice was easy, the 911 was going, I had too much into the RX7 to ever sell it.... plus it was way faster.
Then I made the Audi Mistake that wasted 4 years of my life.....
I got the E46 BMW, used, of course, and if I had purchased new, this would have been the car, no sunroof, manual seats, no overboard electronic goodies, M Appearance package. Great car! We had it from 75K to 130K miles then I felt it was time to get rid of it before it needed a lot of work.
Here came the RX8, a test drive sold me, an Autocross 3 weeks after purchase made me fall in love. The steering beats the 911, my RX7 could never get there with tons of mods, the RX8 is there straight from the factory.
Plus, even though I am the second owner, it is a car I would have ordered, no sunroof, no power seats, no overloaded electronic goodies. The bonus? The R3 package.
I fully plan to keep this RX8 for a long long time. I love this car best over all the cars listed above..... with the exception of my RX7.

93 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme!!!!! Drove it through high school and college. It is now recycled and in tiny pieces!! my current other vehicle that i drive on shitty days is my 97 Chevy extended cap pick up which will be replaced by a Jeep soon i hope.

A 2006 Hyundai Tiburon GT was my first car and love and I trashed the hell out of it. Buying a new car for a high schooler isn't the smartest idea. I sure learned how to drive and knowing my limits.
Tiburon was a great little car 0-60 is low 7 secs so fast enough to beat all my high school friends.
sold it 6 years later after college and cried when I traded it in for the 07' MT RX-8 but I do not regret the purchase one bit.
Salesman was surprised when a chick wanted to drive the MT RX-8 though... look on his face... priceless.

First offically bought car under my name 2008 Chevy Cobalt Sport Coupe, it was the 2nd best compared to the Turbocharged/Supercharged version with the engine still Naturally Aspirated. Did many autocrosses with that car, and serious mods included supercharging it. Unforunately I was involved in a motor vehicle accident last month that ended the car all together. It was so hard to accept the fact that she was gone. So I did the hardest thing I could do and went out to the market 2 weeks later after I was recovered enough to walk around.
I wanted another Cobalt at first but later I saw a video by Top Gear of the RX8. They demonstrated what the car is capable of and recommends the RX8 to true car enthusiast or a car that's different. Looking around on autotrader.com manage to find many RX8's even a 40th ann. and the R3. But once I found my 2007 RX8 GT I was sold. Went 300 miles to go get her but I have no regrets for the trip. The funniest thing is I was first in line while 4 others where waiting to see if I was gonna buy it or not. I didn't know the car was so popular in Houston TX. Anyways I know the story is long and I'm going off subject now but one thing for sure. Anyone who owns a 8 now, your awesome and truly know what the real value of the car is that's more than the price tag.

Here is my ownership list. 94 Mazda RX-7, 00 Chys Sebring limited convert, 04 Ponie Grand Am GT, 04 Mazda RX-8 GT bought in 2009 currently owned, 05 RX-8 Shinka currently owned.
My wife drives a 2006 Audi A6 Quadtro 2.7 Twin Turbo.
There is no car I would have over the RX, and ive driven ALOT of cars besides the one ive owned and the ones my wife has, EVEN the new Camaro, which i got to drive about 2 weeks ago.
The style, the engine and its sound cant be found anywhere on the market today. In this technological age that we are in today its hard to find a true sports car. And now-a-days everyone wants all this techie crap in there cars where to RX has remained true to the driving experience of it, not how many bytes of data i can send.
But maybe im just a bit over zeolet.

^^^ That's why I never got rid of my 1994 Probe GT. Just turned 200K on the car, about 65K on the engine (guesstimate because the replacement was J-spec with no way to tell how many miles it had). As you can see by my sig I have 3 Mazda-powered cars and love them all.

first car my dad leased for me was a 06 supercharged cobalt, which was fast for what it was and i beat the **** out of it, after the lease was up i purchased a 04 rx8 which i loved but being my first rotary it broke constantly so i sold it, moved onto a 01 audi s4 which was badass but automatic i ended up totalling that out and bought my friends 04 saturn ion redline which is still own to this day, in november i came across a 06 shinka rx8 with 28k miles on it for only 14k so i flew from buffalo to chicago and drove it home and its been in storage since cant wait to start modding it, the saturn will be up for sale real soon. i just couldnt stay away from the rotary way to much fun

Sold at 88k miles because the superchargers are known to fail around then

Owned only one, but drove many:
'90 Opel Astra F (my own little beater - drove like a clockwork)
Driven on a daily basis at some point:
'08 Chevrolet Matiz - little bread box, but not too bad to move around in in the city.
'06 Skoda Octavia - 3 piston engine if I remember correctly. No power and sounds like a stapler on speed.
'06 BMW X5 - Auto trans; A dream in driver comfort (as long as no city driving involved)
'11 Volkswagen Passat - I put that one into a guard rail at 2 kph because you can't see **** in that car (I am 1,75m and no chance to see what is happening beside you).
04' Opel Corsa Van - great for moving things, no back seats.
And some ohers.
