Oh yeah I guess I can count my 3 MGBs too. They are just toys, I tried to daily drive one of them for a month and it was "fun" working on my car every other time I went to drive it.

1986 Porsche 944 Turbo- I miss that car every day. I don't miss fixing it constantly, but I miss it. Great car, and when I have enough money to have multiple cars, I will buy it back.

My last car was a 1991 Saturn SL2 which I purchased back in 1991. Almost 15 years with the same car -- it had 153K miles on it and was still in damn good condition. The early Saturn's were damn nice cars and held up well.

The good news: I *love* my 8.

The bad news: I hate having a car payment after 11 years without one. :-(

I do not yet own a RX8, I will in the fall. I am waiting till 06 to see if anything new is comming. Probably not, but it will also help for money reasons as well. I currently drive a 2002 toyota celica GTS with hotchki bars, eibach springs and a couple other small mods. Love the car and the way it handles, but cant wait for RWD, and a bit more power. Currently at 180hp with 8000 RPM redline. I'll probably do some suspension work within the first few miles-love to feel the G's.

This is our first sports car! I currently drive a 2004 Jeep Rubicon. We traded in a 1999 Toyota Rav 4, for a 2005 Mazda RX-8, 6m, black & red leather interior. We put 300 miles on it this weekend in the mountains of Northeast Tennessee and North Carolina. Wished I had bought a sport car years ago. I now know what I missed.
I taught my Jeep was fun to drive, boy was I mistaken.

That little RX-8 turns alot of heads when it goes down the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT A SWEET RIDE[/U]

I had a 2000 Ford Ranger, white, stepside, bedliner, bugflector, toolbox, ventshades, tinted windows, sony cd player, blaupunkt speakers all the way around, SIX tweeters, BOSS 200 watt amp for the highs (got out of bass years ago). Cried when I traded it in for my 8. Made some memories in that truck. But after 10 mins in my new 8, I forgot what I had when I came to the lot. Oh, beware of the TEST DRIVE.

Cool. My last car was a Guards Red 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo upgraded with M030 sport suspension and computer/wastegate mods to make ~250HP. A truly wonderful car that unfortunately had an idler pulley sieze causing the timing belt to be stripped which in turn caused the valves to be eaten by the pistons. Used to autocross with the local PCA (Porsche Club of America) chapter.

It was the regular repair work that swayed me to buying the RX-8 instead of getting a 968 (the next iteration of the Porsche 944) from the mid-90's. The RX-8 handling has a lot of similarities to the old front engine Porsches (FEP). In fact, IIRC, the original RX-7 design was a response to the Porsche 924 - the first of the FEPs.

5spd 4wd 1996 Toyota Tacoma, Lifted, Knobbies, etc. - a truck.

1995 Lexus SC400, straight pipes, intake, kumhos + wheels. - a boat, that costs more than it's worth to repair

My rx-8.

I had a 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL
Looked good, took care of me in a really bad "rear ended" wreck, not the fastest thing in the world, handled decently well once I got some nice tires and I got used to the fact that it weighed as much as a tank...it started having problems...saw an ad for a deal on the 8 and decided to test it. done deal. drove her home that night...It was hard to think about letting go of the 3000 but as soon as I pulled out and heard the hum of the rotors I thought...what 3000?

2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder - TRD Springs and Shocks, AEM CAI, Team Moon exhaust, Saner Bar, Lots of Cusco Braces, B&M, Falkens & Heliums = best autocross/canyon carver I have ever driven or owned. Nothing quite like a 2100lb midengined gokart. If only I could afford the Elise as a toy...

My previous car was a 99 Toyota Camry that I bought off of my ex-girlfriend because she was leaving the country and I needed something reliable at the time. I was working a job that required lots of travel with my own vehicle.
