Thumbs up Turbo'd Toyota FT-86 G Sport concept !

Turbocharged FT-86 concept model just shown to public at the Tokyo Autosalon.

FT86club posted pics and specs: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=306

Its powered by a turbo boxer 4 engine w/ toyota 6speed. Really hoping this car comes as light as advertised!

looks like a celica! Nissan 350+Toyota Celica = FT86

Goodlooking car. I don't like the top side rear (trunk lid shape)

If they make this and it does well, maybe Mazda will get the hint and make a competitor with a turbo rotary :D

It's a shame that Mazda is getting left in the dust by a bunch of other Auto Car Makers. They really need to come big, if they plan on coming at all.

Looks to be a keeper if they actually make & sell it here. The body looks lean, the rear is very nice with that concave trunk and builtin lip spoiler. Love the side creasing and fender vent too. The front overhang is small, meaning the engine bust be front-mid placement and holding that turbo we don't see... must have some serious torque to keep those 275/35R19s busy!
Only that squarish front hole (shown in the link) is a bit iffy looking and the hope that the quality/finish level is way higher than the Celicas of old...they were, as I remember, one cheap-*** tin can full of hard plastic bits.

.. so like the rx8...not much hp.. an inexpensive fast wannabe..?

and i'm not sure what the exact definition of a sports car is for you, but that would definitely be considered by a sports car. a sports car isn't about hp.

i love it. i love my rotary, but i have a not so secret crush on boxer engines... the sound they make is absolutely terrifying, and they're ******* bulletproof. can't wait for the release, i'd take one in a heart beat.
