Let's try to keep it civil people.
The bashing/flaming and off topic posts aren't really necessary.

The guy picked up a very nice car and that's nothing to be pissy or irritable about. This is a public forum and all are welcome so he has every right to post.

Thanks,
Ajax

Muscle cars are all about straight line speed with very little consideration to handling ability. The Corvette he just bought handles as well as your RX8 does, so it's not really a muscle car.

What's wrong with sharing his joy, and why are you trying to kick him out? He just traded in a very nice car for a spectacular, if quite different, car, and he's radiating his pleasure.

Anyway, scoutwalke, enjoy your new car, it's a great car!

There's something about that LS1 V8 that just ... grabs ya. When I first go from the GTO back to the RX-8 she just feels and sounds rather anemic in comparison... at least until I take her around a few corners. Then I'm smiling again!

So I can understand why the man went for the 'Vette. By the way, the license plate frame for our Goat says
GTO: Australian for Vette.

Yeah, I autocross a lot, and there's nothing like the sound of a C5 Corvette, or, a Camaro with the huge V8 in it, rumbling by when you're working the course. Although I love my little roadster, and don't prefer a Corvette, you have to smile when you hear that V8 rumble.

The corvettes performance is amazing, I have to agree with that.. The Rx8 doesnt even come close. But the build quality is terrible

Are american designers blind when it comes to fit and finish??

Whatever. I'm one of the very few people in this forum who's actually driven those stupid cars. My acquaintance owns the automatic Mach 1. It truly is a POS. He's loves it but even his friends laugh at it. He's always talking about the Cobra, though. Sounds like he should have gotten a Cobra. But because he's always talking about the Cobra, that's why I was thinking he had a Cobra. Associative Network Theory of memory. Think about it, genius.

Got the generations mixed up? I told you what year my friend has. The only thing I got mixed up on was calling it a Cobra when he has a Mach 1 automatic. You'll probably need to find something bigger to knock me off my intellectual pedestal. Talking about Mustangs has little to do with intelligence.

Any Mustang owner in this forum who is in denial should probably spend more time on a Mustang forum.

Bad combination of traits, to be sure, but you have to play the cards you are dealt....queen high in your case. Want to raise?
Look at the phrases in this post. LOL. Absolutely hilarious. Remember, an answer choice that is too definitive is probably the wrong answer choice. I especially love the addition of a specific example "queen high," which concretized everything.

This post is all about ego. Turn your ego outward, not inward. Yes, there is a world outside you full of people who will instantly reinforce your inferiority.

Reactionary, the forum mod gave you a warning and yet you continue the fight. As this is a reoccurring theme with you, you're outta here for a 2 weeks to think about it.

Well--back on topic--last gen Cobra, C5, and C6 are badass. Definately a trade up--I probably would be if this was like a trade to a 350Z/Mini Cooper S/RSX/or R32 :p
